                                        Mrs. Cassie Lee Croom

  Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Lee Croom, 89, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Casey Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson with the Rev. Frank Kemper officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Olhausen.  Burial will be in Big Springs Cemetery.

  Mrs. Croom died at 7 a.m. today at Medicenter in Jackson after suffering a fall on Christmas Day of last year.

  She was born in Atkins, Ark., daughter of the late Henry William and Johnnie Scarlett Croom.  After her mother's death she was reared by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William H. Croom of near Pinson.  She was married to Neil Croom of Big Springs in 1904, and they made their home in Pinson wher Mr. Croom farmed until his death in 1934.  Since that time she had made her home with her son, C. E. Croom in Pinson.

  She was a member of the Pinson Methodist Church.

  Surviving are her son, C. E. Croom of Pinson; five daughters, Mrs. Ernest Sparkman, Mrs. Colice Benson, Mrs. Jennie Mai Thomas , Mrs. Elsie Sheffield, all of Pinson, and Mrs. Ruby Alexander of Henderson; a grandson, Robert Neil Benson of Pinson; and a great-grandchild, Randy Benson.

  Pallbearers will be W. C. Weaver, Frank Grantham, Houston Webster, Wynn Sparks, Leo Watson and Ed Millner.
