John K. Hughes Henderson. Funeral mass for Mr. John K. Hughes, 73, will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Leon Johnson Funeral Home with Father Davdi Foley officiating. Burial will be in the Henderson City Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Hughes died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis. He was born in Saltillo, Tennessee, son of the late Norman C. Hughes, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Alexander Hughes. He entered the service during World War II and served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific. After being discharged in 1946 he entered the Navy Reserve serving for twenty-six years. He farmed for several years before owing and operating Hughes Machinery Company in Henderson. He was married to Ruth Anna Hagemann in 1842. Mrs. Hughes died in 1969. He was later married to the former Judy Davis of Henderson. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and was a founding communicant of Christ the King Catholic Church in Henderson. Other than his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Mitchell of Bolivar and Mrs. Carol Curry of Hawaii; five sons, Mr. John K. Hughes II, Mr. Ronald Hughes and Mr. Gerald Hughes all of Converse, GA., Mr. Bobby Hughes of Winston, OR, and Mr. John Hughes, Jr. of Cleveland, TN; two sisters, Mrs. Morta Volner of Scotts Hill, and Mrs. Thressa Kelly of Memphis; two brothers, Mr. Clyde Hughes of Milan and Mr. Norman C. Hughes, Jr. of Decaturville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, John Moore Mitchell, Richard Harris, Frank Bell, Donnie Robertson, and Lewis Ray Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be R. L. Plunk, H. S. Morgan, Bill Aeschliman, Mike Mitchell, Joe Gussey, Raymond Davis and Hubert Steed. Rosary services were held at 5:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Leon John
