9. John (Jack) POTTER² was born in 1801 in NC.³ He died in Cades Cove, Blount Co, TN. Lived in Montvale Springs. He was in Blount County in 1840 with wife and 8 children. John was also in the 1830 Blount County Census with 2 daughters and a wife.

Margaret (Peggy Jane) GIBSON¹ was born about 1807 in TN.³ She died between 1850 and 1860 in Blount Co, Tn.¹ Margaret was listed on the 1850 Census as 43. She isn't on the 1860 Census. Several more people are in the household in 1860 as follows

Lived with his sister Jane Sparks in Cades Cove. Made caskets and was known to hide his whiskey in them. Had a little dog named Trixie and was often photographed with the dog. He would lie down in the coffin he made for himself and ask people if he looked good. " Blount Cemetery Records" by Edith LIttle show him buried in Cades Cove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Davis Potter Co D 2n TN Cav. There are no dates on the marker.
