Sims Family
Quick Overview || Documentation || Links
Introduction
William, the earliest Sims ancestor found so far, arrived in New York City sometime before 1786 when he was married there. His surname is variously spelled Sims, Sim, Simms, etc. Very little is known about him. He may have been born in England or Scotland — in the 1870 census listing for his son William D. Sims there is a tick mark in the column "father of foreign birth".
