Carol was a teacher in Malvern, PA, and later pursued a business career. She married - (1) Walt MITCHELL on 28 Jun 1930 in West Chester, Chester Co., PA. They divorced in 1946. (2) Orson Nevin Ritzman on 15 Aug 1946, in Bernville, Berks Co., PA. (Orson was born 14 Mar 1889, Strausstown, Berks Co., PA. He was employed in business and sales, and had been an editor. He died 21 Jan 1974, in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC, and is buried there.) Carol Ritzman was buried 30 Aug 1973, at Philadelphia Memorial Park, in Frazer, PA. Carol was the twin of Mildred Reagan. George Starr married Loretta Margaret WALTHOUR on 12 Oct 1914 in Washington, Washington Co., PA. For many years, he owned and operated a family grocery in Wickboro (now part of Kittanning). He later became Borough Secretary in Kittanning, a position he occupied until his retirement. An avid baseball fan, he managed teams and encouraged young players throughout his lifetime. For this, he was a posthumous inductee into the Armstrong Co. Sports Hall of Fame. A lifelong member of Hose Co. No. 6, he was elected the company's Treasurer in 1922 and held the office until his death. He is buried in the Kittanning Cemetery. FAMILY PHOTOS GRAVE

Although Rhett Starr was considered, by her brother, Gene, to be the spitting image of her mother, she was raised in the homes of her CLEVER grandparents, and later of grandparents Shilo and Netta WALTHOUR. Possessed of a sunny disposition, Rhett was plagued by health problems during her final years and never really recovered from the blow of losing her eldest son in World War II. Warren Mitchell married Mary Louise SHARP on 10 Jun 1907 in West Chester, PA. He owned and operated Mitchell's Men's Shop in downtown West Chester for decades. He was an active, civic leader throughout his life. He was a longtime Rotarian and supporter of the West Chester Chamber of Commerce. Mary Sharp was a graduate of West Chester Normal School and was active in student government during her years there. She taught school for a year, prior to her marriage. Mary was a devout Quaker, taking an active role in Meeting affairs. She is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Irvin was given the nickname 'Spider' in his youth. As a young man he served as a page for the legislature in Harrisburg. He worked for a time for the Bell Telephone Co. and served in the military, stationed at the Presidio, near San Francisco. On 1 Jun 1909 Irvin married Ena HUGHES in Kirkland, Chester Co., PA. He settled into a career as owner and operator of Reagan's Smoke Shop, next to the Courthouse in downtown West Chester. He was buried at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer. Israel Mitchell was born at Mill Creek Hundred, New Castle Co., Deleware. He later resided in New Garden, Doe Run and West Chester (all in Chester Co.). Israel was a harnessmaker and proprietor of harness shops successively in each community. He was a member of the Birmingham Monthly Meeting. He married Adrianna FORSYTHE at St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church, in Wilmington, Delaware, on 3 Apr 1879. He was buried in the Friends Burial Ground, Rosedale Ave., West Chester, on 18 Feb 1922. 18. Joseph Walter SHARP

Walter Sharp and his wife, Jennie, were both tall and loved to dance. In June of 1890, they, and their three children, attended an all-day dance near Birmingham. On their way home to Chatham (about 12 miles) they were caught in a rainstorm. Walter developed a cold, it progressed into pneumonia, and he died about three days later, less than a week after his 36th birthday. He had been a farmer. Widowed at an early age, Jennie Sharp became Postmistress at Chatham on 2 December 1893. In 1896 she suffered another loss, her eldest child, Edgar, was thrown from a horse and killed at the age of 15. As her two daughters approached college age, she left her position in Chatham and purchased a home at 212 Price St. in West Chester. From there she put her daughters through normal school renting rooms to students at West Chester Normal School (most notably Carlos Sanchez of Costa Rica) and doing housework. She later served as a nanny, and, for a time, she was a practical nurse caring for retired Union Army General Woods. She resided in his home, a large stone mansion two doors from her daughter's home on Union St. in West Chester. Later in life she lived with her younger daughter, Jessie Henderson, at 335 Dean Street in West Chester, and finally with her elder daughter, Mary Mitchell, on Union St. She maintained good health until just before her death. She is buried in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square. PHOTOS GRAVE

Shilo served as a Sergeant in Company F, 11th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the War of the Rebellion. He was wounded in the fighting at Gettysburg in July 1863. After the war, he married Anzonette "Netta" TURNEY on 30 Jul 1866 in Greensburg. The couple soon moved to Kittanning. Shilo worked as an agent and engineer for the Pennsylvania Rail Road. He lies in the Kittanning Cemetery. GRAVE

All sources agree, though delayed by many years, he died of complications from a cold contracted while he was 'storm-stayed' in the Allegheny mountains as he was coming home from a state convention in Harrisburg.
