More information about Rebecca Margaret JACKSON STROUD Descendants and family Rebecca Margaret JACKSON, one of two surviving children of JACKSON Family Massacre and recused by the Texas Rangers, after being held captive by the same Indians that had killed four members of her family in 1858. In 1872, she married John Simmons STROUD John Simmons STROUD born 4 August 1829 in Georgia, died 8 Sept 1907 in Hamilton, Hamilton, Texas. He was the son of Wiley STROUD and Elizabeth (BURTON) STROUD. He was a widower having married in Arkansas to Elizabeth BROWN, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Unknown maiden name) BROWN, Elizabeth was born 11 August 1835 in Tennessee. She died on died April 11, 1872 in Travis county, Texas. They had seven children together, ranging from 18 to 2 years of age at the time of her death. One son, Bryan S.
