The DARMSTADTS were metal workers/blacksmiths in Hessen, and became cobblers, boilermakers, actors, soldiers, and businessmen in Cleveland.  The MARTINS were also blacksmiths, miners, railroad mechanics, and airmen.  Pvt Wm ROCHE, "E" Co., 1st US Cavalry, died with his boots on with the Lt. S. M. Rains Party at the Battle of Cottonwood Canyon, Idaho 3 July, 1877.  Bridget ROCHE nee BLAKE then raised two families at Ft.
