Very little of this file has been verified, except where deed, will, census or probate data is listed. Many of the names are entered here for reference and further study. Please do not use this work as "gospel", for it is here only as a guide for those of us researching this line. There are probably many errors here, which we will attempt to remedy soon. Some people are entered twice because different parents were shown by different entries. Refer back to page 3 for more Hanover Co., VA data. Some information on this site came from the Symes Connection webpage, and others sources listed below. Many names from Ancestry.com, Family Tree Maker, and the on-line LDS Family History website. Deeds, census, wills from USGenWeb sites. An excellent SIMS site is Search Lisa's Sims Database, where we found many of the below names. Al SIMMS has an interesting website which following the line of William SIMMS and Amy CLARK. A book found in the Dallas, TX central library called "Sims Kin, History & Genealogy of William Symes of Poundsford & Related Families" by Billie Louise & Robert James Owens supplied many of these names/dates/places. And last, but not least, Robert J. Owens, to whom we owe much thanks for his sharing SIMS names with us. The North Carolina counites shown below are nearly adjacent and southwest of Brunswick Co., VA. Counties in the western side of North Carolina will be added soon.
