Born circa 1809, probably in Kentucky. Married first to Clifton Mothershead circa
1827. Six children were born before Clifton's death in 1838 in Jefferson Co., Missouri.

Married John Murrel, 17 August 1840 in Hillsboro, Jefferson Co., Missouri and bore
three more children. Martha was still alive in 1870.
