1900-1961
Laura Ward Adams, 60, died at her home on Preston Street Friday,
January 13. The daughter of the late W. J. and Loucinda Preston Ward;
was born in this city December 8, 1900, and had resided here all of her
life. She was a member of the Mayo Memorial Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Stewart Adams, Jenkins; Wallace Adams, West Van
Lear; three brothers, Heber and Shade Ward both of this city; Ted Ward,
Oil Springs; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Meade of this city. Funeral
service were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Sunday from the chapel of the
Paintsville Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Perry, pastor of Mayo
Memorial Church, as officiating minister. Burial was in the family

ADKINS, Robert K.
1961
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 1:00 p.m., at the Pilgrim
Holiness Church at Tram for Robert Keith Adkins, infant son of Wyatt
and Jennie Caldwell Adkins, Woodland Drive, who died in a local
hospital Friday, January 13. Survivors include besides the parents two
sisters, Mary Ellen and Geraldine, and one brother, Danny Ray Adkins,
all at home. Burial was in the Adkins family cemetery at Tram.

BLAIR, Ottis Kenneth "Buster"
1925-1961
Rites Friday At Van Lear Ottis Kenneth Blair, 35, known as “Buster”
died at
1:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, in a Dayton, Ohio hospital following an
illness of three months. He was born in this county November 28, 1924,
the son of Nora Rivers Blair of Van Lear and the late Warnie
Blair. A former resident of Van Lear, he had lived at Dayton for
the past thirteen years where he was employed by Frigidaire. Surviving
are his wife, Mrs. Sadie Stamper Blair; a son, Kenneth Ray Blair, at
home; two daughters, Donnie Sue Blair and Kathy Ann Blair, both at
home; two sisters, Mrs. Dan Powers, Van Lear; Mrs. Robert Stone,
Pallidena, Md. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Friday,
February 3, from the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Moses
Kitchen as officiating minister. Burial was in the family

Lula Blanton Rites Conducted Here Sunday
Mrs.Lula Blanton,72, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Imogene
Baldridge in this city, at 5:10 a.m., Friday, January 27, of a
heart condition. The daughter of Leecie and Jane Conley Blair,
she was born in this county October 11, 1888, and had been a resident
of this city for the past fifteen years. Her husband, Challie Blanton,
preceded her in death August 5, 1945. Surviving besides her daughter
are three sons, Russell Blanton, Chesterburg, O; Douglas Blanton and
Frank Blanton both of Dayton,Ohio: two other daughters,
Neva Dale, Dayton, Ohio; Bessie Gullett of this city: four
brothers, Asa Blair, West Van Lear, Warnie Blair, Van Lear;
Herbert Blair, Sunbury, Ohio; Irvin Blair, Oil Springs;
three sisters, Ellen Pennington, Falcon; Goldia Vincent, Wayland; Abbie
Borders, Ulysses. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday
from the chapel of the Preston Funeral Home with Scott Castle as
officiating minister. Burial was in the family cemetery.

CHURCH, Alfred
1882-1961
Alfred Church, 78, retired miner of Tutor Key, died suddenly of a heart
attack at 10:05 a.m., Tuesday, January 31. The fatal seizure
occurred in the G. C. Murphy Store in this city. He was born February
24, 1882, in Lawrence County and had lived at Tutor Key for the past
fourty-five years. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist
Church. His wife, Lottie Kazee Church, preceded him in death June 22,
1958. Survivors include three sons, Alfred Church, Jr., Robert Church
and Thomas Church all of Tutor Key; two stepsons, Ray Picklesimer,
Nippa, and Lloyd Ward, Whafton, W. Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Don
Castle, Tutor Key; Mrs. Jay Van Hoose, Salyersville; Ruby Castle,
Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Bessie Castle, Ashland; a brother,
Henry Church, Thealka. Also surviving are twenty-eight
grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday,
from the Thealka Free Will Baptist church with James Lyons and Scott
Castle as officiating minister. Music was by the Staffordsville
Quartet. Burial was in the Church family cemetery at Tutor Key.

Fraley, Thomas Thomas Fraley, 46, died of a heart attack at his home at
Thelma at 11:43 a.m., Thursday, January 12. The son of John E. and
Alphretta Taylor Fraley, he was born in Martin County, May 8, 1914, and
had lived at Thelma for four years, where he engaged in farming. He was
a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Okie Daniels Fraley; four sons, Thomas, Ronald, Marshall and William
Fraley all at home; two daughters, Ruth Fraley, Detroit, Michigan;
Alphretta Fraley, at home; four brothers, Haskell Fraley, Davella;
Hentison Fraley, Thelma; Milford Fraley, Turkey Creek, Ky.; Jerry
Fraley, Kopperston, W.Va.; two sisters, Maude Franko, Detroit,
Michigan; Dorothy Cooke, Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services were
conducted at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, January 15, from the Old Friendship
United Baptist Church at Williamsport with Nim Sturgill, Tom Sammons,
Arthur Preece and Henry Caudill as officiating ministers. Burial was in

Elza Hall, 64, Retired Barber Dies January 6
Elza Hall, 64, resident of Meally and formerly a well-known barber of
this city, died in a local hospital Friday afternoon, January 6, after
an extended illness. The son of the late A. J. and Sarah Elizabeth
Ramey Hall, he was born in this county June 4, 1896. Surviving are
three brothers, Curtis Hall, Thelma; Charlie Hall, Meally; James Hall,
Lancer; a half brother, John Hall, West Van Lear, and a half sister,
Mrs. Laura Sammons, West Van Lear. Funeral services were conducted at
2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 8, at the chapel of the Jones and Preston
Funeral Home with J. H. Short as officiating minister. Graveside
rites were conducted by the DAV. Burial was in the Wheeler

JARVIE HOWARD, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES IN ARIZONA
Jarvie Howard, 55, died suddenly Wednesday, January 4, 1961, at his
home in Phoenix, Arizona. A native of Johnson County, he was the son of
the late Joe and Phoebe Hall Howard and was born October 1905. He
left Johnson County eighteen years ago and had lived in Phoenix for the
past two years, where he worked as a contract painter and mechanic.
Surviving are two brothers, Orville Howard, Santa, California; Joe
Howard with the U.S. Navy; one sister, Mrs. Betty Stidell, Santa Ana,
California; three sisters, Mrs. Jeff Reed of this city; Mrs. G. B. Van
Hoose and Mrs. Dockie Reed, both of Lucasville, Ohio; two brothers,
Steve Howard, Sciotoville, O.; Delphia Howard, Dayton, Ohio. Funeral
services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, from the
United Baptist Church in this city with Lonza Reed and F. F. Rigsby as
officiating ministers. Burial was in the family cemetery at

1876-1961
Mollie Huff Rites Held At Mouth Of Rush
Mrs. Mollie Huff, 54, lifelong resident of Nippa, died at 11:15 p.m.,
Tuesday, January 3, in the King’s Daughters’ Hospital, Ashland.
She had been ill for the past two years. The daughter of Isaac and
Malina Price Preston, she was born in Nippa March 2, 1876. She was a
member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband preceded her in
death in 1950. Survivors include three sons, Frankie Huff, Dayton,
Ohio; Harry Huff, Baldwin park, California; Elley Ray Huff with the U.
S. Army in Tacoma, Washington; three daughters, Edna Castle Ceredo,
Ohio; Ethel Castle, Wittensville, Eunice Crews, English, Indiana; one
brother, Harry Preston, Hager Hill. Funeral services were conducted at
1:00 p.m., Saturday from the Mouth of Rush Church with J. C. Scaggs,
Catlettsburg, and Claude Preston as officiating ministers. Burial was

Rites Thursday For 7-Month-Old Keen Infant
Andy Keen, 7-months-old son of Jimmie and Maxine Honeycutt Keen, Van
Lear, died in a local hospital at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17,
following a week's illness. Surviving besides his parents are four
brothers, Tim, Roger Lee, Terry and Danny Keen, all at home. Funeral
services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, from the
home of William Wells with Rev. S.C. Honeycutt as officiating minister.

Willie Lackey Of Boons Camp Died January 17
Willie Lackey, 56, disabled miner of Boons Camp, died of cancer in a
local hospital at 8:00 a.m., January 17, after an illness of two years.
The son of William and Ida Ward Lackey, he was born on July 13, 1904,
and had been a life-long resident of Boons Camp where he was a member
of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Mae
Daniels Lackey, four sons, Willie Lackey, Jr., Tom Lackey, Charles
Lackey and Danny Lackey all of Boons Camp; six daughters, Lorraine
Lackey, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Cassie Ward, Geneva, Ohio; Mrs.
Carrel Austin, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Marietta Preston, Hager Hill;
Larlene Lackey and Barbara Lackey both of Boons Camp; two brothers,
Hansford Lackey, Melvin, Ky., Ed Lackey, Boons Camp, Mrs. Lennie
Hughes, Dehue, W. Va.; Mrs. Anna Porter, Logan, W. Va., Mrs. Bell

Mrs. Colista Lowe, 88, died at her home at Lowmansville at 9:00 a.m.,
January 12, after an illness of six weeks. The daughter of Andy
Athingon, she was born at Lowmansville and had been a life long
resident of that community. Se was a member of the United Baptist
Church. Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Church and Lena Fannin
both of Lowmansville; a brother, Allen Athington, also of Lowmansville.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14,
from the home with Flem Arrowood and F.B. Daniels as officiating

William McKenzie Veteran World War I Dies At Meally
William McKenzie, 66, died at his home at Meally at 1:20 Sunday,
January 15, following an illness of three years. The son of James
and Paulina Mayhan McKenzie, he was born October 12, 1894, in
this county and had lived at Meally for the past fifteen
years. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the
Freewill Baptist Church and worked as an electrician. Surviving are his
wife, Mrs. Josephine Litteral McKenzie; three sons, Edward
McKenzie, Tutor Key; Charles Paul McKenzie, Ypsilanti, Michigan;
Ernest Ray McKenzie, Belleville, Michigan; four daughters, Nellie
Meade, Thealka; Sue Horn, Springfield, Ohio; Alice Jean Stevens,

John Randell Melvin, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. John Melvin of Boons
Camp, died January 14, at 9:45. Surviving besides his parents are his
paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Add Melvin, King Addition, and
maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Walters, Boons Camp. Funeral
services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, at the chapel
of the Preston Funeral Home with O. I. William as the officiating
minister. Burial followed in the family cemetery at Davis Branch.

William J. (Will) Patrick, 69, brother of Mrs. Boone Trimble of this
county, was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday at King's Daughters'
Hospital, Ashland, after suffering a heart attack at his home on
Winchester Avenue. Mr. Patrick was born Nov. 21, 1891, in Salyersville,
a son of John H. Patrick and the late Minta Adkins Patrick, and was a
member of the First Methodist Church. Mr. Patrick is survived by his
father, John H. Patrick of Salyersville, the wife, Julia Arnett
Patrick, three sons, William Arden Patrick of Meadeville, Pa., and
James and Charles Patrick, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter,
Mrs. Ted Kinner of Ashland; two brothers, Hudson Patrick, Salyersville
and Walter Patrick of Lexington; four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Patrick
and Mrs. Anna Patrick, both of Salyersville. Mrs. George Easton,

Davisport Man, Dies in Louisa
Seymore Penix, 75, resident of Davisport, died in a Louisa hospital at
3:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, following an illness of two weeks. The
son of the late John and Haley Mollett Penix, he was born at Boons Camp
April 29, 1885, and had lived at Davisport for forty-five years where
he engaged in farming. Surving are his wife, Mrs. Kelly Mills Penix;
five sons, John C. Penix, Mose L. Penix, Herbert Penix, William Penix
and Jack Penix all of Akron, O., five daughters, Mrs. Velva Smith and
Mrs. Estell Pack, both of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Haley Crum, Clifford; Mrs.

Rites Friday For Gary Cecil Price 14-Year-Old
Gary Cecil Price, age 14, passed away at 1:00 p.m., January 11, in a
local hospital after an illness of one year of a heart condition.
He was born September 19, 1946, in Pike County but was a resident of
River, Ky., at the time of his death. He was the son of Cecil
Price and Gladys DeBoard Price. Surviving besides his parents are four
brothers, Stephen, Roger, Randy and Kenny all at home, and four
sisters, Laura Mae, Vonda Lore, Naomi and June at home. Funeral
services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, at the River
United Baptist Church with Bud Wiley and Grover Fannin as officiating
ministers. Burial followed in the Price Cemetery at River.

Jesse M. Rose Rites Conducted Sunday At Louisa
Jesse Merida Rose, 72, of Keaton, Ky., a retired farmer and
steamfitter, died at 2:20 a.m., January 27, in a Louisa hospital.
He suffered a stroke six days ago. Mr. Rose was born may 2, 1888, at
Keaton, a son of the late Thomas C. (Bud) and Polly Gambill Rose.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday in the Young Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Ida Ferguson Rose, to whom he had been married
52 years; a daughter, Mrs. Hobart Lester of Louisa; five sisters, Mrs.
C. R. Lyon, Ashland; Mrs. Leo Skaggs and Mrs. Louzetta Skaggs of
Martha; Mrs. William Mullins and Mrs. John Thompson of Keaton; two

Smallwood Rites Conducted Today At W. Van Lear
Phines A. Smallwood, 50, disabled C. & O. Railway employee, died at
1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, in a local hospital. He had been
in ill health for the past five years. The son of L. J. and Rilda
Farmer Smallwood, he was born April 5, 1910, in Pike County and had
resided at East Point for the past year. He was a member of the
Regular Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Newsome
Smallwood; three sons, Adam and James Smallwood, both of Columbus,
Ohio; Donald Smallwood, Betsy, Layne; one daughter, Bethel M.
Smallwood, East Point. Also surviving are two grandchildren and
the following brothers and sisters. Cecil Smallwood, Pikeville,
Oler Smallwood, Muskegon, Michigan; Rufus Smallwood, Staffordsville;

Church at West Van Lear with John D. Music, Paris Music and John Crunt

SPARKS, Jeff
1891-1961
Well-Known Thealka Man Dies Monday
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., today for Jeff Sparks,
69, retired miner and well-known resident of thealka, who died Monday,
January 9, in a local hospital following an illness of four years. The
son of the late Nelson and Clista Ward Sparks, he was born January 15,
1891, and had been a lifelong resident of the Thealka community.
He was a member of the United Baptist Church. Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Laura Castle Sparks whom he married December 6, 1919; two
sons, Ray Sparks, Las Vegas, Nev.; Thomas Earl Sparks, Cincinnati,
Ohio; two daughters, Miss Faye Sparks, Louisville, and Miss Virginia
Sparks at home. Services were conducted by Florida Lyons, Cully Sparks
and Merida Wiley. Burial was in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at

SPEARS, Ida Mae (McFaddin)
1895-1961
Funeral services were held here at 10:30 Tuesday for Ida Mae Spears,
65, who died at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, in a Lexington hospital
after an extended illness. She was the widow of Marcus Spears, Sr., who
passed away August 13, 1958. Mrs. Spears was born June 6, 1895, a
daughter of the late Isaac and Nancy Ann Slone McFaddin. She was
born in Johnson County and had resided at Van Lear for many years and
was a resident of Collista at the time of her death. She was a member
of a widely known Johnson County family, and had hundred of relatives
in this area. Surviving are seven children, Ernest Spears, Dayton,
Ohio, Raymond Spears, a teacher in the Paintsville schools,
Paintsville; Marcus Spears, Jr., Colista; Charles Spears, Van Lear;
Mrs. N. T. Anderson, and Mrs. R. D. Yates, both of Silver Springs,
Maryland, and Miss Emogene Spears of Collista. She also leaves four
sisters, Mrs. Mary Hicks, Birmingham, Alabama, Mrs. Alka Justice,
Taylorsville, W. Va., Mrs. Rose Ann Miller, Paintsville and Mrs. Nan
Selvage of Ohio. Funeral services were held in the parlor of the Jones
and Preston Funeral Home by the Rev. Claude Preston. Music was by
the Paintsville Quartette. Burial was in the Richmond Cemetery of
Paintsville. Pallbearers were Crate Spears, Frank Spears, Orville
Kestner, Joe Kestner, Bearle Conley, and Guy Conley. Paintsville Herald

SPURLOCK, Mary Lee (Burnett)

Carcinoma Fatal To Native Of County
Mrs. Cecil Spurlock, 57, the former Miss Mary Lee Burnett of East
Point, died January 16 at her home in Uhrichsville, O., of
carcinoma. She had been ill three years. Born in East Point, Jan.
10, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Crider
Burnett. She had been a resident of the Uhrichsville community
since 1927. Her husband, Cecil Spurlock, died Nov. 7, 1957. Surviving
besides her mother are one daughter, Mrs. David King of Uhrichsville; a
son, F. M. Spurlock of Lancaster, O., a sister, Mrs. Russell Long, and
a brother, Frank Burnett, both of Uhrichsville and two grandchildren.
Burial was in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Paintsville Herald

EMMA STAMBAUGH RESIDENT OF CHARLEY PASSES SUNDAY
Mrs. Emma Stambaugh, 70, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, January 22, at the
home of her sister, Mrs. J.N. Stambaugh, Euclid Avenue, after an
illness of three and one-half years. The daughter of the late Taylor
and Fannie Caudill Daniels, she was born in the county April 4,1889,
and had made her home at Charley for fifty-one years. She is survived
by her husband, H.H. Stambaugh. Also surviving besides her
husband and sister are two brothers, Willie Daniles, Charley Ky.,
and E.L. Daniels, Ironton O., and several neices and nephews. Funeral
services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, from the
home at Charley with Rev. John Pommert as officiating minister. Burial

TACKETT, Ted
1896-1961
Ted Tackett, Native Of County, Dies In Ohio
Funeral services for Ted Tackett were held last Thursday at Carey,
Ohio, from the Stony Ridge United Baptist Church. Burial was in
Spring Grove Cemetery. Mr. Tackett, a farmer and Swan Rubber Company
employee, died at 1:30 a.m., January 2, in Wyandott Memorial Hospital
where he had been a patient since suffering a severe heart attack two
weeks earlier. A native of Johnson County, he was born January 3,
1896,, a son of Moses and Macy Susan Shaffer Tackett. He moved to
Carey thirteen years ago. He was married April 1, 1916, to the former
Eva Horne of Staffordsville, who survives. Also surviving are six

grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; three brothers, Paris, Harry
and Wayne Tackett, all of Staffordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Shirley
Wilson, Staffordsville; Mrs. Mayme Dyer, Ashland; Mrs. Maude McKenzie,
Dayton, Ohio. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Van Hoose Rites Held Sunday At Mouth Of Rush
Arascus Van Hoose, 72, retired miner of thealka, died suddenly at his
home at 9:00 a.m., Friday, January 13. The son of Marion and Emma Dixon
Van Hoose, he was born September 1, 1889, at Tutor Key and had resided
in that vicinity all of his life. He was a member of the Free
Will Baptist Church. He was married at Tutor Key October 26, 1908, to
Virgie Stapleton, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Clarence,
Earl, and Carl Thomas Van Hoose, all of Tutor Key; Marion Van Hoose;
Twilight, W. Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Meade of this city; Mrs.
Carl Haney, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Elro Van Hoose, Nippa;
Mrs. Madge Stapleton, of this city; Mrs. Herbie Burchett,
Stambaugh. Also surviving are twenty-eight grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00
p.m., Sunday, January 15, from the Mouth of Rush Free Will Baptist
Church with C. C. Hall and Claude Preston as officiating

Services Tuesday For Well-Known Official
Ben H. Vaughan, 71, well known attorney and Master Commissioner of the
Johnson County Circuit Court, died suddenly of a heart attack at noon
Saturday. The fatal seizure occurred in his office at the
courthouse, and he was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.
Mr. Vaughan was the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Allen
Vaughan, member of prominent families of the section. He was born
in Paintsville January 26, 1889, and had been a lifelong resident of
the city. He obtained his early education in the public schools here
and was graduated from the Sandy Valley Seminary. After
completing his legal training and receiving his degree from the
University of Louisville Law School, he returned to Paintsville to
become associated with his father in the law firm of Vaughan and Howes,
one of the valley's outstanding legal firms. He early manifested an
interest in politics and was active in city and county affairs, serving
as City Attorney and county treasure. At the time of his death he
was acting Master Commissioner and County Judge pro-tem. An able lawyer
having a keen intellect and sense of humor, his genial warmth and
friendly personality contributed to the high esteem and public favor
with which he was regarded. A county official closely associated
with Mr. Vaughan for many years is quoted as saying " Ben Vaughan
wanted to be right about everything he undertook. He was serious minded
and honest public servant and the county will miss his valuable
service." Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Esther Price Vaughan, whom he
married in Catlettsburg November 5, 1914; two sons, Joseph F. Vaughan,
Silver Springs, Md., William J. Vaughan, Korea; one daughter, Miss Mary
Louise Vaughan, Washington. D.C.; one sister Mrs. Sally Pace, Rock
Island, Washington; two brothers, Carl Vaughan Martin of this city, and
Hobert Vaughan Martin, Frankfort. Funeral services were conducted at
2:00 p.m., Tuesday January 17, 1961, from the chapel of the Jones and
Preston Funeral Home with Rev. W. Hugh Smith Pastor of First Methodist
Church officiating. Pallbearers were members of the Johnson County Bar
Association; burial was in the Wells-Buckingham Cemetery in this city.

Martha Williams Of Williamsport Dies January 6
Mrs. Martha Jane Williams, 85, resident of Williamsport, died at her
home at 7:15 a.m., January 6, after an illness of seven years. The
daughter of the late Farmer and Fannie Borders Deboard, she was born at
Uylsses May 8, 1875, and had been a resident of Williamsport for the
past sixty years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist
Church. Her husband, James M. Williams, preceded her in death January
6, 1953. Surviving are four sons, Buster and James Williams, Jr., both
of Williamsport; Walter Williams, Hager Hill; Everett Williams,
Wayland; five daughters, Mrs. Ollie Butcher, Mrs. May Rose, and Mrs.
Maggie Mollett, all of Williamsport; Mrs. Ruth Preston, Hamilton, Ohio;
Mrs. Juanita Letner, Vandalia, Ohio; a brother, F. B. Deboard, and a
sister Lydia Chandler, both of Lowmansville. Also surviving are
fifty-six grandchildren, eighty-three great-grandchildren. Funeral
services were conducted from the home at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, January 8,
with Claude Preston and Mack Provence as officiating ministers.
Music was by the Paintsville Quartet. Burial was in the family cemetery
