    A searchable surname database of passenger lists on the Internet, you can enter either a surname or a ship name as a term to search for. There are early ship passenger lists across the web. To save you quite a bit of surfing, ShipSearch has made them searchable from this one page. The search will point you to the sites and pages where your search terms are located! It must be remembered that the spellings of your surnames will be varied.

    For the benefit of those like myself who are not able to access Tasmanian libraries, newbies and those that aren't members of the Genealogical Society of Tasmania I would like to point out that I have learned that the publications listed on that particular website are available for purchase from GST Hobart Branch. Visit their website for a list of all available publications, ordering details etc. Details are also given for joining the society. Listed also are the various branches around Tasmania (the various branches have their own unique publications).

Here is a Site :
That has some names of some people from NZ that appear in various Canadian records prior to 1920. There is a link to a "Pan for Gold" database that can be searched for names of those going to the Yukon for the gold rush in the late 1890's. Includes country of origin for many of the names. Many from New Zealand.
