My wife, Fran, and I have been researching my Bates ancestors for over 20 years. This page is an effort to share some of our findings with other genealogists. The first entries will be the two monographs of our research which I wrote in 1988. We have run out of copies to send to interested parties and the Web provides a marvelous means to share with an unlimited number of people.
