 I NEED YOUR HELP-- GENEALOGY AND GENETIC DISEASE!!
This ribbon represents the fight to find a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Never before has my fascination with genealogy been more important. I have/had four members
of my family (one cousin, one second cousin, an aunt and an uncle) all diagnosed with this
crippling and fatal disease. Since the second cousin was diagnosed, we have determined that
ALS must be passed down through my grandmother's side of the tree. Her maiden name was MIDDLEBROOKS--
her mother's maiden name was BURROUGHS. If you are a descendant of either of these surnames,
I urge you to look at the cause of death on any death certificate you may have. Even if you do
not find a connection to my family, yet have these surnames in your tree, you might be able to help me.
