Letter from Dr. L. S. Bingham of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina to Dr. Jackson L. Bost of Olive Branch, Union County, North Carolina, dated June 16, 1856. Dr. J. L. Bost was born in Cabarrus County, NC in 1832 and died in Union County, NC in 1909. He is buried at Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dear Jack,
Enclosed I send you a bill of the books ordered – Parrish’s Pharmacy & Ellis’ Formulary. You will perceive there is 75 ct in lacking to get Jackson’s letters in addition. You can either send the amount in postage stamps yourself or let me know & I will. Ellis, it seems, is worth $1.75. I hope you will receive your books safely. Let me know what you will do.
There is nothing new stirring here. It is still quite healthy, but getting a little more sickly.
I had a very severe spell, yesterday, of cholic & nettle rash, similar to the ‘attacks’ I had had before. Today I felt better. Your friends here are all well. Visit by next mail & give me all the news of your region.
