ANSON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA

HISTORICAL CURRENCY

The Bank of Wadesborough was chartered in 1850
with Walter R. Leak as President and H.B. Hammond cashier.
It closed in 1865, at the end of the Civil War.

Sometime in the last half of the 1800's, the spelling of the town
was changed from "Wadesborough" to "Wadesboro."

Another bank similar in name was the Bank of Wadesboro,
which was founded in 1902.
