Edmund D. Caudle and Margaret Covington Caudle.click on photo for larger view. .Edmund D. Caudle was born Apr 12, 1842 in Anson County, NC and died Nov 2, 1929 in Lanesboro Twp, Anson Co, NC. He was son of Richard Caudle (b.Mar 1, 1798 Anson Co, NC) and wife Margaret Catherine White (daughter of George White). Edmund D. Caudle married Margaret Jane Covington (b.Aug 21, 1849-d.Nov 26, 1913), daughter of James Melton Covington. He was in Company K, 43rd NC Infantry during the Civil War, and was the last surviving member at the time of his death. Buried at Caudle-Covington Cemetery, 1 m. N. of Peachland, Peachland-Polkton Rd.  Also see photograph of their son James Edmund "Tug" Caudle.
