Louis Jackson Kiker, born Mar 8, 1838-died Jun 7, 1915. Lived in the Burnsville area of Anson Co, NC. Buried at Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery. He was a Private in Company K, 43rd NC Infantry during the Civil War.

1) Married Feb 10, 1856 to ROXANNA HATCHER (b.Feb 28, 1822-Sep 12, 1905)
2) Married about 1906 to ANN ELIZA HORN (Mar 4, 1854-Sep 23, 1937, daughter of Pleasant Horn and Sarah Hatcher)

Louis Jackson Kiker was the son of Alexander Kiker. There has been considerable confusion over this family because Alexander Kiker (1810-1865), married two women named Lucinda O'Neal. The first Lucinda (c.1822-c.1851) was a daughter of my 4th great grandparents Kindred O'Neal (c.1785-1855) and his wife Culia Hayles, who were married in Johnston County, NC in 1810, and came to Anson County shortly thereafter. The second Lucinda "Lucy" O'Neal was a daughter of William O'Neal, who I believe was Kindred's brother. I believe William and Kindred were sons of William O'Neal and Phereba Clanny who were married in Johnston County in 1784. I have figured out which children were whose, etc. with the help of an 1855 petition regarding the estate of Kindred O'Neal, which was found by one of my genealogy researching cousins. The petition lists the children of Kindred's deceased daughter, Lucinda O'Neal Kiker, as: Annie B. Kiker, Lewis J. Kiker, William Y. Kiker, Franklin D. Kiker, Edmund L. Kiker, and Nancy E. C. Kiker. At another point, Edmund's middle initial is given as S.
