GRIFFIN

Jeremiah Marrow Griffin is my great grandfather.

We show in our family bible that his father was Nathan Griffin. There is a Nathan Griffin in the Revolutionary War. He was born in Dorchester County, Maryland.

His pension for the Rev. War shows him living in North Carolina and Camden, South Carolina during this time. I need information to connect Nathan as the father of Jeremiah Morrow Griffin, who is buried In Van Wyke, SC at the Presbyterian Church in a field stone marked grave. Jeremiah was born in Anson County NC 1796 and died in Lancaster Co, SC in 1890.

BAUCOM

MOORE

I have a beautiful old post card photo of a child named "Margaret Augusta Baucom" age 6 months.  This, along with several other lovely old photos, was found in my mother-in-law's picture box.  My MIL, now deceased, was born Margaret Moore in Marshville, NC in 1917.  This is the only photo which has been identified with a name. After an attempt at research, I have found no connection to the Baucom family; however a family cousin tells me that there is a connection.

So today I began again, finding on www.findagrave.com, a listing for a Margaret A Baucom, 1915-1918.  I think this child's name and dates might be appropriate for the photo.  [She was the daughter of Marshall Ray Baucom and wife Julian Ammons, and grandson of Edmond D. Baucom and Margaret Little. Of Anson Co/Richmond Co, NC]

I did however find a possible connection (of sorts).  Margaret Little Baucom was a sister to Sarah Ellen Little Holmes (wife of John Holmes).  Margaret Moore's mother, Emma Coker, was raised by her uncle, John Holmes and his wife, S. Ellen Holmes. Anyway, I'm trying to identify this child (way too many Margarets here).  Help and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

INGRAM

SOWERS

I am a descendant of Malachi and Rebecca Ingram. They were in Anson Co before they moved to Montgomery Co, MS. in the early 1840s. They
had a son, William Winston Ingram who does not seem to have moved with them, so he must have stayed behind with some other family members or friends (rather odd) I need help finding him and anything about the Ingrams and their time in Anson. William W married Amanda J Sowers in 1859 and they had 2 children, John Joseph in 1861 and Corrine Adella
in 1863. However, when William returned from the Civil War, she left him with the 2 children. I cannot find a divorce record, but believe she remarried. William packed-up the children and moved to Montgomery
Co, MS to join the rest of his family. William joined the Civil War in July of 1861, mustered in I think in Union Co. He was wounded and captured at Gettysburg, then furloughed back to NC, where he "begat" his second child and then returned to his regiment and served to the end of the war. His wound was in his leg. There are some good military records on him. I would appreciate any information that can be found about this family, as well as the Sowers family.

GOODWIN

TUNSTALL

I would write a query, but I have a peculiar lack of information...There was a GOODWIN, lst name unknown married to Emily Diane TUNSTALL who lived in Anson when Emily was admitted to State Hospital in Morganton, NC in 1885. At this time she was 18 yrs old and already a widow. She was the daughter of William James Tunsall, Sr of Richmond/now Scotland, NC. She was born in 1867 in Conway, SC, in 1870 she was age 13 in Harnett Co with family. Her father died in 1898 and is buried at King cemetery, Scotland county, NC...she had an older brother Wm James Jr by 1864.
The TUNSTALL family by 2nd wife Helen PERMENTER lived in Hamlet or Laurinburg.
I recently found Emily in FAG.com...her life was sad, widowed by 18, sent to State Hospital for 34 years until her death of "Exhaustion of dementia praecox or schizophrenia and acute diarrhea". she is buried at Morganton hospital cemetery, plot r21, g25.
I know it would help to know husband's lst name...but there you have it...perhaps GOODWIN family researchers might recognize this bit of info?

SHORT

I live in Indiana and my father was T. Lee Short, the second of nine children of Thomas M. Short (1880-1977) and Annie Mae Smith (1883-1983) who lived in the Weddington area. Thomas M. Short was a son of Minor Jackson Short (1837-1931) who was a Confederate Civil War veteran. They all are buried at the Weddington United Methodist Church. My inquiry is about Minor Jackson Short's father John Short who was in the 1850 census in the Sandy Ridge area of Union County and he was 43 at the time. I have not been able to find where he was buried or who his parents were. I believe he died between 1850 and 1860 in this area. Could you help me with this?
