Elias Calvin Barker and his wife Lavissa moved after 1880 to Gaston Co, NC. Elias Barker was born in Union Co., NC on August 17, 1844 and died in Gaston Co., NC on May 26, 1917. He reared a large family of children, including William Rynallie Barker. Elias was the son of Bailey Barker and Charity Phifer Barker. These photographs are in the possession of his descendant, Karen Dean of Dalton, Ga. (deceased as of Jan. 2014). Submitted by Zelia Cline.
