Adam F. Brooks was one of five children born to King David Brooks and Martha Elender Brooks. He married Bedie R. Griffin daughter of Andrew Jackson Griffin and Martha Ann Griffin on February 10, 1887. J.S. Smith Esq. performed the marriage ceremony in Union County, North Carolina. Adam was 22 and Bedie 20 years old at the time of their marriage. This union lasted for the remainder of their lives. Bedie died on February 7, 1922, just three days short of her 35th wedding anniversary. Adam died two months and three days later. They both died from complications of the flu and pneumonia. Adam was a member of the “Woodsman of the World”.
