Ex-Sheriff Hasty, of Union Dead
Monroe, March 21 --Last night at 10 O'clock ex-sheriff J.J. Hasty, one of the old landmarks of this county, passed away.  He was 65 years old and has been in declining health for several weeks, and his death was not unexpected.  He had many friends and a large crowd attended the funeral and burial which took place at 8 0'clock this evening.  He was a member of the Baptist Church and belonged to the Masonic Order.  He was buried with Masonic honors.
