Jane Helms was born about 1861 in Union County, North Carolina and died Aug 11, 1939, daughter of John Helms and Gillie Redfern. She had 2 children:
1) Lillie Fowler Helms (b.Aug 7, 1879-d.Mar 23, 1950) who married about 1899 to Francis Marion Hargett (Aug 4, 1879-May 6, 1952, s/o Daniel Hargett and Emily Penley).
2) Big Tiny Helms who married William Benjamin "Ben" Helms (b.Jul 5, 1881-Aug 23, 1953, son of David and Susanna Helms).
Jane, Lillie, Francis, Big Tiny and Ben are buried at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery (although some are in unmarked graves).
