Burwell B. Smith was born Oct 13, 1813 Anson Co, NC (the section that later became Union Co, NC) and died Feb 3, 1893 in Chester Co, TN.  Wife Sarah Margaret Braswell was born abt. 1843 in Union Co, NC and died Feb 9, 1923 in Chester Co, TN.  They were married Dec 10, 1866 in Union Co, NC. She was his 3rd wife. His first two wives were: 1) Creasy ____, 2) Judith Birmingham.  B. B. Smith was the son of Cullen Smith and wife Patience.

After B. B. Smith died, his widow and sons Silas and Byrl opened "Smith Brother Jewelry and Optometry" in Henderson, Chester Co, TN about 1897.
