March 26, 1831, N.C. SPECTATOR AND WESTERN ADVERTISER (Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, N.C.)

-Died: At his residence in Lancaster District, S.C. on the 2d Feb. Col. William NESBIT, in the 76th year of his age. He has left e very extensive circle of relations and friends to mourn their irreparable loss.  He evinced his firm attachment to the cause of Liberty, by his brave and patriotic conduct during the Revolutionary War, in which he filled the office of Captain, with honor to himself and usefulness to his country, throughout the contest for freedom.  He had, for many years previous to his death, been a Ruling Elder in the Associate Reformed Church of Waxhaws; and his life, as a christian and neighbor, was ever well worthy of imitation.

May 2, 1835, WESTERN CAROLINIAN (Charlotte, NC)

-Strayed or Stolen.  On the night of the 11th instant, from the subscriber, living on Waxhaw Creek, Mecklenburg county, North Carolina, a BAY MARE, four years old this Spring, between 14 and 15 hands high, from the footlock to the hoof of one hind leg white, with one or two black spots.  No other marks recollected.  Said mare was got from a gentleman residing not far from Statesville.  Whoever will take up said mare and bring her to the subscriber, or give information so that he can get her shall be liberally rewarded.  ALEXANDER HALES

premises on which he formerly lived, commonly called Jacksonville, on the head waters of Richardson's creek,

containing 410 acres, on which there is a good Dwelling House, Store House, and Gin House, with the other

necessary buildings, all in good repair. There is an excellent Spring, a Well, a small Tan Yard, and a very good

Orchard, all situated at the Cross Roads on the Rocky River road, leading from Cabarrus county to Camden, S.C.,

and the Newtown road, leading from Cheraw, Wadesborough, &c. to Landsford, and is considered an excellent
