Road Work Orders

(From microfilm records: Commissioners’ Road Docket, 1869-1905)

 

 

January 12th, 1870. Ordered by the Board that W. P. GADDY be appointed Overseer on the Wadesborough Road (2 ½ miles) and that he work the following hands, (Viz) G. P. AUSTIN, Joseph HELMS, Enoch GRIFFIN, Thomas HEMBY, Bryant WILLIAMS, John WILLIAMS, A. S. GADDY & all other hands who may have been omitted in the above list.

 

January 12th, 1870. Ordered by the Board that Jeremiah PERRY be appointed Overseer on the CUTHBERTSON Road from the College Road to the Township line and that he work the following hands, (Viz)Thomas PERRY, James SINCLAIR, Jack MARSH, Benjamin BIVENS, Joseph P. HARRELL, Jas. McBRIDE, Thomas HUNTLEY and all other (hands) or person liable to work who may be omitted in the above list and who are not working on any other Road.

 

January 12th, 1870. Ordered by the Board that Hampton SIMPSON be appointed Overseer on the BAUCOM Road from RICHARDSON’s Creek to the Township line and that he work the following hands Viz, David C. TRULL, William GRIFFIN, Moses GRIFFIN, Marquis SIMPSON, Harry GRIFFIN, Sandy LONG, Hampton AUSTIN and all hands belonging to said Road which may have been omitted in the above list and who are not working on any other Road.
