Van Alstyne Cemetery Van Alstyne Texas

As of this time the only family member that I know of that is buried here in Van Alstyne is Martin Lewis's son Frelingheysen.

Frelingheysen was born Aug. 8, 1849 and died or Typhoid Jan. 8, 1874 at the age of 25 years. He was about 18 years old when they came to Texas from Cocke County Tennessee where he was born. As far as we know he was not married.

The grave was found with the marker broken in 2001 some 127 years after it was placed over his grave. Note the spelling on the marker "Freelin*H Lewis". Picture taken by Jim Lewis.
