Mrs. Lucy Norris Clark, widow of Eugene B. Clark of Hampstead, died Saturday.
She was born in Duplin County, N.C., November 12, 1909 the daughter of the late Hardee E. and Luola Cavenaugh Norris.
Mrs. Clark was a charter member of the Winter Park Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Sunshine Laundry after 35 years association.
Surviving are three sons, Phillip B. Clark, of San Francisco, Calif., Robert E. Clark of Rocky Mount, N.C., and H. Russell Clark of Wilmington, One [sic] sister, Mrs. Lura Norris Register, of Wallace, N.C., Also five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 O'Clock at the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Ray Ward.
Memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 5221 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, N.C.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 6 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary and at other times at the home of her son, H. Russell Clark, 2220 Camellia Drive.

Mrs. Mary Louise (Pat) Deitz Swain, of 51 Holland Drive, died Friday in New Hanover Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Duplin County on June 15, 1922 the daughter of the late Kirby and Dollie Mobley Rogers.
Mrs. Swain was a member of the Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church and had served as correspondence secretary with Womens Aglow.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Swain Sr. of the home; two sons, Jimmy G. Teachey of Castle Hayne, N.C. and Richard R. Teachey of Wilmington; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Stallings and Mrs. Violet Hatcher, both of Wallace, N.C.; nine brothers, Linwood Elmo Rogers of Charleston, S.C., Charles Thomas Rogers of El Torro, Calif., Clarence H. Rogers of Florida, Ralph D. Rogers, Daril J. Rogers, Kirby S. Rogers, Jr., and David Earl Rogers all of Wallace, N.C., Roy James Rogers of Jacksonville, N.C., and Lloyd C. Rogers of Savannah, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Andrews Mortuary by Rev. Steven J. Mattis. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at their residence, 51 Holland Drive, Castle Hayne, N.C.

Mrs. Omah Williams Cavenaugh, widow of Charles Irving Cavenaugh, of 1709 South Live Oake Parkway died Tuesday at her residence.
She was born in Wilmington on March 17, 1901, the daughter of the late Clinton F. and Lena Mills Williams.
Mrs. Cavenaugh was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, The Carolina Yacht Club, and The Cape Fear Garden Club.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Vivian W. Allen of Wilmington and Mrs. Audrey W. Sayer of Clearwater, Florida, four grandchildren, Miss Heather Kilpatrick and Miss Holly Kilpatrick, both of New York, New York, John Kilpatrick of Denver Colorado, and Charles Kilpatrick of Richmond, Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Andrews Mortuary by Rev. Ben Rouse. Interment will follow in Oadkadle Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7 until 8 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Waccamaw Boys Home, Lake Waccamaw, N.C."

Maria Lanier Mercer, age 79, of Route 2, Beulaville, died early Saturday monring in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Padgett Funeral Chapel in Beulaville, conducted by the Rev. Tim Heath. Burial followed in Lanier Family cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Guylie (Minnie) Fountain of Richlands, and Mrs. William (Margaret) Simpson of Beulaville; four sisters, Lizzie Sandlin and Bertha Brown, both of Reulaville, Lelitia [sic] Marshburn of Richlands, and Evelene Thompson of Pine Level; one brother, Leslie Lanier of Beulaville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Mercer was the daughter of the late Spious and Katie Maready Lanier. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church.
Casketbearers were Leslie C. Lanier, Archie Rouse, Jr., Waitus Cowan, Lonnie Casteen, Ronal Cowan, and Fred Hunter.
The family received at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and were at Mrs. Mercer's residence, Route 2, Beulaville, other times.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Johnnie (Doris) Cottle of Watha, Mrs. Larry (Ann) Lakins of Nappanee, Ind., and Mrs. R. J. (Susie) Adkins, Jr., of Burlington; two sons, Jimmy Anderson of Watha and Marvin T. Anderson of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Estelle Rivenbark of Oakland, California; one brother, Cedrice White of Watha; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
A native of Pender County, Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Gatt and Irene Moore White and the widow of Hughlon Anderson. She was a member of the late Watha Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Sonny Anderson, Timmy Anderson, Maurice Anderson, Lamar Lakins, Randy Anderson, and James Anderson.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Bronnie (Helen) Henderson and Mrs. Shirley Henderson, both of Wallace, Mrs. John (Doris) Mott and Mrs. J.W. (Linda) Mott, both of Harrells; four sons, Woodrow Brown, Clifton Brown and Bobby Mobley, all of Wallace and Jackie Brown of Beulaville; three brothers, Denver Sholar of Wallace, Ray Sholar and Winfred Sholar, both of Holly Ridge, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Mobley was the daughter of the late McKeever and Ida Parker Sholar. She was the widow of the late Ennis Brown and Ray Mobley and was a member of the Oakdale Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

Bertha Stroud Raynor, age 64, died Sunday night, Dec. 13, at her residence on Route 2, Wallace, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 2:00 p.m. from the Northeast P.F.W.B. Church, conducted by the Rev. R. W. Pierce and the Rev. Clyde Shelton. Burial followed in the Cavenaugh Cemetery, Route 2, Wallace.
She is survived by one son, Lawrence W. Hall of Lilburn, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Cliff (Esther) Jones of Wallace; and four grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Raynor was the daughter of the late Carl L. and Melva Cavenaugh Stroud and was the widow of Herman W. Raynor. She was employed at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw for several years before her retirement and was a member of the Northeast P.F.W.B. Church.
Casketbearers were Buck Rich, Aaron Cavenaugh, John David Cavenaugh, Stanley Cavenaugh, Ralph Jones and Clifton G. Jones.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and were at the residence of Mrs. Cliff (Esther) Jones other times.

(Bill) Dail of Houston, Texas; one siser, Mrs. T. G. (Clara) Huffman of Chinquapin; one brother, Albert Dail of Wilmington and four grandsons.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Dail was the son of the late Riley Hayes and Agnes Lanier Dail. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Chinquapin Presbyterian Church.

A native of Jones County, Mr. Cottle was the son of the late Charlie and Clara Susan Winsett Cottle. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church and a former member of the Dunn Rescue Squad. He was employed with Page & Page Tire Co. of Dunn.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Good Tidings Church by the Rev. V. O. Brassfield. Burial will be in Devotional Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Peterson Cottle; a son, Richard Cottle of Dunn; two daughters, Janice Cramer and Sherry Gifford, both of Dunn; five brothers, C. M. Born in Magnolia, N.C., Mrs. English was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Whaley Gavin and was the widow of Floyd Dewey English. She was a member of the Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Brown Cottle; one daughter, May Ellen Cromer of Decatur, Ga.; one son, James Garlond Cottle, Jr. of Tampa Fla.; two stepdaughters, Ann Autry of Willard and Flossie Pickett of Chinquapin; two stepsons, Danny Lee Surcy of Chinquapin and John David Surcy of Wallace; two sisters, Ruby Crain of Greenville, S. C., and Mamie Hollowell of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Haywood Cottle and Franklin Cottle, both of Wallace; two grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.
Born in Duplin County, Mr. Cottle was the son of the late Jessie W. and Minnie Merritt Cottle. He was retired from the U. S. Navy, having served during World War II and later years.
Casketbearers were John David Surcy, Danny Surcy, Rodney Springer, Clarence Rivenbark, Jimmy Albertson, and D. J. Whaley, Jr.

Born in Duplin County, Mrs. Lanier was the daughter of the late Quincy Owen and Lula Cottle Albertson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Lanier and her son, Broadus Lanier.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Patsy) Boyd of Greenville, S.C.; four sons, Richard Cavenaugh, Norwood Cavenaugh, and Duncan Cavenaugh of Wallace, and Willie Cavenaugh of Kernersville; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Sissel of Lumberton; two brothers, Waitus English of Hampstead and Johnny Butler English of Ivanhoe; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the Late Fennell and Minnie Cavenaugh English. She was the widow of the late Robert R. Cavenaugh and a lifelong member of the Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Cavenaugh of New York City, N. Y.; one brother, Paul Cavenaugh of Wallace; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Born in Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Joseph J. and Martha Elizabeth (Patsy) Mallard Cavenaugh. He was a retired masonry contractor, was of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist faith, and was a lifelong resident of the North East community.
Casketbearers were Phillip McClung, Sambo Cavenaugh, Duncan Cavenaugh, Kenneth Cavenaugh, Gene Cavenaugh and Billy Cavenaugh.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9:00 p. m. Sunday and were at their residence, Route 3, Wallace, other times.
The body remained at the funeral home until 12:00 noon Monday when it was taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.

Lagrange - Johnnie Aldridge, 84, of Lagrange Rt. 1, died Saturday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer, and also a member and deacon at Sandy Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. H. T. Waits officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Survivors include a wife, Mrs. Verdie S. Aldridge of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Brock of Greenville; four sons, Clifton Aldridge of Cleveland, Ohio, Vance and Lloyd Aldridge, both of Kinston, and Danny Aldridge of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times they will be at the home at LaGrange Rt. 1."

Allen Sherwood Futrell, age 64, of Route 1, Magnolia, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, March 20, in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 22, at 3:00 p.m. from the Padgett Funeral Chapel in Wallace conducted by the Rev. Ed L. Johnson. Burial followed in Devotional Gardens near Warsaw.
He is survived by his widow, Ruby Faye Rich Futrell; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Frances) Whaley of Warsaw and Mrs. Pat (Cathy) Jackson of Rose Hill; two sons, Wayne Futrell of Magnolia and Glenn Futrell of Wallace; five sisters, Myrtle Brown of Rose Hill, Mary Lillie Norris of Chinquapin, Evelyn Scheel of Nashville, Tenn., Lena Gerhardstein and Eunice Hazelwood, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Willie Futrell of Rose Hill; and six grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Futrell was the son of the late Richard Morton and Myrtle Batts Futrell. He was the retired owner of the Allen Futrell Ceramic Tile Co., Magnolia."

She is survived by her husband, Paul Cavenaugh; one daughter, Mrs. James (Ann Elizabeth) Lanier of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Billy Cavenaugh and Joseph Cavenaugh, both of Wallace; one sister, Mrs. W. D. (Katie) Murray, Sr. of Wallace; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Born in Wallace, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late Neal and Martha Boney English, and was a member of the North East Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Casketbearers were Warren Cavenaugh, Larry Lanier, Ricky Kelly, Murphy Drew, Charles Powell, Allen Lee, and Mark Likens. Honorary bearers were Phillip McClung, Russell Stokes, Bradley Sanderson, and Mack Raynor.

Mrs. Eunice Horne Patrick of Wilmington, N.C., died Wednesday in Davis Health Care Center.
She was born in Wilmington, N.C. on August 14, 1903, the daughter of the late Moses and Bettie Cavanaugh Horne.
Mrs. Patrick was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Meredith College; and was a member of the Wrightsboro Home Demonstration Club and the Golden Age Club.
Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Lucile H. Marshburn of Wilmington, and her brother, William M. Horne of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Wrightsboro Cemetery by Dr. Edward C. Hay.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
