William David Cavenaugh, age 77, of Route 3, Wallace, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 16, at his residence after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, from the Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Walter Pierce, Rev. Clyde Shelton and Rev. Ray Brown. Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Williams Cavenaugh; two daughters: Mrs. Ann Fields of Wallace, and Mrs. Faye Wheeler of Jacksonville, Fla., two sisters: Mrs. Mary Lou White and Mrs. Margaret Teachey, both of Wallace; one brother, James E. Cavenaugh, of Cayce, S.C.; one granddaughter and four grandsons.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late William Henry and Della Bradshaw Cavenaugh. He was a retired carpenter and poultry farmer, a member of and a deacon in the Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of the Northeast Community.
Casketbearers will be Willie Wheeler, Deane Wheeler, David Wheeler, Greg Fields, Robert Matthews and James Franklin Teachey. Honorary bearers will be Raymond English, Earl Cavenaugh, Mack Raynor, Billy Cavenaugh, Otha Carter, and Charles Brown.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will be at their residence, Route 3, Wallace, other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Sunday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.

Arthur Clayton Albertson

Arthur Clayton Albertson, age 84, of Route 1, Harrells, died Tuesday morning, March 6, at Pen-Du Rest Home, Route 2, Wallace, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. from the Padgett Funeral Chapel in Wallace, conducted by the Rev. Donald Coley. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by three brothers, Brew [sic] Albertson, Milton Albertson, and Tommy Albertson, all of Harrells ; two nephews, Harry Albertson of Harrells and Jimmy Albertson of Willard.
Born in Lyman, Mr. Albertson was the son of the late Owen Quincey and Lula Cottle Albertson. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and had been a resident of the Harrells area for many years.
Casketbearers will be Edward C. Bowen, Henry Mathis, Jimmy Moore, Mack Johnson, Jack Bowen, and Bob Bowen.
The family received at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will be at the residence of Drew Albertson, Route 1, Harrells other times.

Mr. Sidney Aaron Cavanaugh, 5140 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, N.C., died Tuesday, May 1, 1990, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital.
Born in Richland [sic], N.C., on June 19, 1914, he was the son of the late Jim and Lucinda Foster Cavanaugh.
Mr. Cavanaugh served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 329.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jerry M. Cavanaugh of the home; three sons, Jerroul Wade Cavanaugh of Rinco, Ga., Sidney Aaron Cavanaugh Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and James C. Matthews of Wilmington; three daughters, Mrs. Mollene Smith, Mrs. Jackie Ludlum and Mrs. Sharon Long, all of Wilmington; three brothers, James Cavanaugh of New Bern, N.C., Nick Cavanaugh of Jacksonville, N.C., and Elmer Cavanaugh of California; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Lewis of Alabama and Mrs. Nancy Woods of Florida; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 4, 1990, at 3 p.m. in Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by the Rev. Roland Dauphinais.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7 until 8 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Mollene Smith, 141 Stoney Brook Road, Ogden.

Beulaville - Mrs. Oma Sumner Miller, 85, died Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Community Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the East Duplin Memorial Gardens, near Beulaville.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Rosa M. Lanier of Kinston; two sons, Winfred O. Miller and Joseph Randall Miller, both of Beulaville; two sisters, Mrs. Louiza S. Miller of Beulaville and Mrs. Mary Grace Woodcock of New Bern; one brother, Joel Ivey Sumner of Mattacha, Florida; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be between 7-9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Duplin Home Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 235, Kenansville, N.C. 28349.

Burgaw - Mrs. Alma R. Cavaenaugh [sic], 92, of 205 N. Dudley Street, Burgaw, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 1990, at Pender Memorial Hospital.
Born April 28, 1898, in Pender County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late William E. and Ida DeBose Rivenbark and was the wife of the late John W. Cavenaugh.
Surviving are four sons: Felton Cavenaugh of Taylor, Mich., John H. Cavenaugh of Burgaw, Lawrence Cavenaugh of Rocky Point and Larry Cavenaugh of Wilmington; three daughters: Mrs. Emily Postl of Warren, Mich., Mrs. Ruth Harris and Mrs. Sadie Jordan, both of Burgaw; one sister, Mrs. Lacy R. Blanton of Burgaw; 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Bilbo officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
Casketbearers will be grandsons of Alma R. Cavenaugh.

Mildred Anderson Bullard, 84, of 109 Meadow St., died Friday at her residence.
A native of Pender, N.C., she had lived in Waynesville for the past 19 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville.
Surviving are her husband, W. Arthur Bullard; a son, Wade Arthur Bullard Jr. of Sturgis, Mich.; two daughters, Josie B. Henson of Clyde and Nancy B. Denney of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. The Revs. George Thompson and Hugh P. Garner officiated. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
The grandsons served as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family was at the residence.
Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity."

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church of Wallace, conducted by Father Tom Tasber. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Angelene Pinyatello Dixon of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Sheryl) Teachey of Rose Hill and Mrs. Ronnie (Beth) Rich of Teachey; one son, John M. Dixon of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor D. McGill of Wallace and Mrs. Polly D. Osborne of Boone; one brother, Lenwood Dixon of Tarboro, and six grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Dixon was the son of the late Johnny and Norma Wallace Dixon. He was the retired owner and operator of Dixon Tire and Gas in Wallace and he was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church of Wallace.
Casketbearers will be Luke Clemmons, George Osborne, Steve Sloan, Joe Scronce, Bobby Batts and Dwight Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Lloyd Boone, Gentry Jones, Billy Holland, Wayne Rackley, Haywood Cottle, Jimmy Powell, Joe Bryant, Tom Chewning, C.J. Caproni and Al Smith.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Emily) Scoville of Havelock, Mrs. Clarence (Kathryn) Smith of Hampstead, and Mrs. Joe (Miriam) Johnson of Warsaw; one son, Wendell Teachey of Rose Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Bob (Edith) Henderson of Wilmington, Mrs. Waitus (Morie Lee) English of Hampstead, and Mrs. Horace (Hilma) Roberts of Surf City; one brother, Kenneth Norris of Wallace; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Teachey was the daughter of the late Vann and Emily Kathryn Cavenaugh Norris and was the widow of Ross Teachey. She was a member of the Island Creek Baptist Church, having taught Sunday school for approximately 35 years.

A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Robert R. and Albert English Cavenaugh and was the owner of Willa's Flowers and Gifts, Inc., was a charter member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship, a charter member of Gideons, International, a member of the American Legion Post #158 and a member of the Wallace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Parker Cottle; two daughters, Mrs. Wade (Cecelia) Houston of Apex and Mrs. David (Sharon) Hall Jr. of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Crain of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Mammie Holloman of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Jesse Franklin Cottle of Wallace; and three grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cottle was the son of the late Jesse Wright and Nancy Catherine Hunter Cottle, and was a retired manager of the Wallace ABC store. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Wallace.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore Russell Brown; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Atlee) Riedel and Mrs. Wayne (Emily) Mertz, both of Findlay, Ohio, Mrs. Bill (Donna) English and Mrs. Frank (Lydia) Williford, both of Goldsboro, one son, Gerald Wood and wife, Margie of Petersburg, Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lillie Norris of Beulaville, Mrs. Eunice Hazelwood of Wilmington, Mrs. Evelyn Scheel of Gallatin, Tenn., and Mrs. Lena Gerhardstein of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Willie Futrell of Rose Hill; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-granchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Richard Morton and Myrtie Batts Futrell. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Frank Wood; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Catherine Boykin; and two brothers, Richard Ray Futrell and Allen Sherman Futrell. She was a member of the Rose Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she had served as musician for approximately 40 years and was honored lst year for 50 plus years for her Christian Music Ministry.
Casketbearers will be David Mertz, Steve Wood, Bob Riedel, Mark Riedel, Michael Riedel and Jeffery Wood. Honorary bearers will be Pete Garris, Bill Smith, Charles Cottle, Edward Chestnutt and Arthur R. Cavanaugh Sr.

Wallace - Mrs. Beadie Sholar Cavenaugh, age 85, of Route 2, Wallace, died Friday morning, April 3, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, from the Oak Dale Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Larry Kelley and Rev. Samuel Swinson. Burial will follow in the William Sholar Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Baxley of Plant City, Fla., Mrs. Bill (Thelma) Stokes of Wallace and Mrs. P.H. (Shirley) Pigford of Kinston; two granddaughters, Miss Linda Gail Stokes of Wanague, N.J., and Miss Marilyn Stokes of Wallace; and one grandson, William Thomas Stokes of Garner.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late John William and Dillie Henderson Sholar. She was the widow of Stephen William Cavenaugh and was a member of Oak Dale Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Morrison Sholar, I.B. Sholar, Leon Craft, Roger Dean Sholar, Elmer Cavenaugh and Leamon Cavenaugh.
The family received at the Padgett funeral Home in Wallace from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will be at their residence, Route 2, Wallace, other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. LeMar (Eva) Ketelsleger of Kenansville; one son, H.L. Sanderson Jr., and wife, Virginia, of Magnolia; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Holliday of Wilmington and Mrs. Minnie Prescott of Sumter, S.C.; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Sanderson was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Mary Catherine Lanier Wood and was the widow of Henry Lawrence Sanderson Sr. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, a longtime correspondent for the Wallace Enterprise, a former member of Masonboro Baptist Church and was a member of Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Larry Sanderson, John Kilpatrick, Steve Kilpatrick, Billy Kilpatrick, Kelly Porter and Bill Nance.

A native of Benson, he was a member, deacon and elder of First Presbyterian Church, a graduate of UNC - Chapel Hill, and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Chi Psi fraternities. He was the retired senior vice president of financial operations for Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Co., a former director of the Jefferson-Pilot Corp., a member of the Financial Section of the American Life Convention, and a charter member of the Life Officers Investment Seminar. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are wife, Eva Elizabeth Cavenaugh; son, Steve Oliver of Greensboro; daughter, Mrs. Sara Bissette Jr. of Asheville; three grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, W. Arthur Bullard Jr. of Vass; two daughters, Josie Henson of Clyde and Nancy Denney of Waynesville; one brother, Harris Bullard of Whiteville; two sisters, Annie V. Kelly of Wilmington and Ruby Parker of North Kingstown, R.I.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Wallace - Raymond E. Cavenaugh, age 73, of 4736 S.N.C. 41, Wallace, died Friday morning, July 23, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 25, from the Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Willard Hardison. Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ludie Batts Cavenaugh; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Jo Anne) Hall of Jacksonville, and Mrs. William Earl (Charlotte) Gregory of Red Springs; three sons, Gordon Cavenaugh, Kenneth Cavenaugh, both of Wallace, and Mike Cavenaugh of Newport; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Claude and Frankie Duff Cavenaugh and was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired barber and farmer and was a member of Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be: Ken Cavenaugh, Steve Cavenaugh, Dennis Cavenaugh, Davey Cavenaugh, Ray Hall and Billy Gregory.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and will be at their residence, 4736 S.N.C. 41, Wallace, other times."

He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and a 19-year employee of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department at Camp Lejeune. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from Pink Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James L. Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Carroll and Christine Stanley, Old Pink Hill Road, Deep Run."

Marion Bradshaw of 5349 Ridgewood Heights Drive, Wilmington, N.C., died Tuesday, December 14, 1993 at his residence.
He was born in Wallace, N.C., on December 31, 1912, the son of the later Abner Faison and Beulah Cavenaugh Bradshaw.
Mr. Bradshaw was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a member of the Hall Memorial Sunday School Class. He was also a member of St. John's Lodge #1 AF&AM. Mr. Bradshaw was the owner-operator of a barber shop in Wilmington for more than 43 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Register Bradshaw of the home; his daughters, Mrs. Jean B. Sullivan and husband, Frank, of Leland, N.C., and Mrs. Catherine B. House and husband, Mike, of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Paul of Wallace, N.C., and Mrs. Emily Casteen of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Deborah Johnston, Abby Willetts and Aaron Heffner; and four great-grandchildren, Lisa Mintz, Jennifer Willetts, Crystal Johnston and Jeffrey Johnston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 1993, in Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel, by the Rev. Ron Bryan, the Rev. Vincent Wall and the Rev. James Pollard.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ray Chestnutt, Jack Willie, Randy Burton, Richard Paul, Glen Cavenaugh and Ottis Cavenaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Sullivan, Don Fink and the members of the Hall Memorial Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his son, Charles Daniel Morse III of Adelphi, Maryland; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruth H. Robbins of Wilmington, N.C.; and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, from the Rose Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jon Strother and Rev. Leonard Doucette. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Englert of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Fish of Fredericksburg, Va., Mrs. Wayne (Linda) Williams of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Rev. Wilbur C. Teachey and wife, Sylvia, of Wilmington and James C. Teachey and wife, Betty, of Greensboro; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Rivenbark of Wallace; one brother, Fred Teachey of Wallace; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wives, Mrs. Viola Mae Cavenaugh Teachey and Mrs. Eunice Clifton Teachey.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Teachey was the son of the late Nelson and Sallie Cottle Teachey. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
Casketbearers will be: J.E. Rackley, Courtney Cooper, Larry Teachey, Tom Hawkins, Burke Petty and Jody Rivenbark.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and will be at Mr. Teachey's residence, Route 1, Rose Hill, other times.
