Assessments were in March, June, September & December. Each card represents the deaths since the last assessment. These cards do not represent every death in Carroll County. They are only the deaths of those who had a burial policy with the Carroll County Burial Association. You will note several did not live inside Carroll County. This could be two things. Either they purchased the policy in Carroll County and moved away and retained the policy (most of those out of state are that way I believe) or they purchased them from Nelson’s other funeral homes in Green Forest, Eureka Springs, Huntsville, or Fayetteville.

The Carroll County Burial Association is not in existence any longer. However I spoke to Alicia & Debby with Nelson’s Funeral Home in Berryville at 870-423-2170 and they said they will assist you in locating records if they are available. Please give them time to do so as this will be done as time is available.

Note: Those with (war) died while in service. Records will probably not be available at the funeral home. You will probably have to contact the military for this information.
