Michael Romig, born May 5, 1723, died 1793
In the name of God, Amen. I, Michael Romich of Manchester
Township in the county of York and State of Pennsylvania,
being sick and weak of body, but yet of sound and disposing mind, memory
and understanding, do therefore make and publish and
delcare, this my last Will and Testament.
First, I order and direct my Executors
here after named to pay my just debts and Furneral
expenses out of my Estate, as soon as conveniently may
be after my decease.
Secondly, I order and direct my Executors to sell all my personnal Estate by way of public Vendor as soon as conveniently can be, after my decease.
Thirdly, My Will is and I do order and direct my Executors thereafter named or the Survivors or Survivor of them, to sell all my Real Estate either at Public or Private Sale which to them shall seem just and to the best advantage of my Estate and I do hereby fully authorize and impower my Executors or the Survivors or Survivors of them, to convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers, there of as fully and amply to all intents and purchase, as I, at this present time could do. And the money arising from such Sales, and of my Bonds, Notes and Accounts, I give and bequeath and order the same to be divided as follows.
I give and bequeath unto my eldest
Son, George, to my Daughter, Dorothea intermarried to Philip Heilman,,
to my Daughter Christina intermarried with John Wilhelm, to my Daughter
Eve, intermarried with William Fornshild, to my Daughter Susanna intermarried
with Jacob Mutchler,
to my Daughter Mary Elizabeth intermarried with Jacob
Bentz, to my Daughter Catharine intermarried with George Gauff, to my son
Michael, to my Son John, to Margaret and Sophia Romich, and to each
of them the sum of one shilling sterling and no more, and the residue and
remainder thereof, I give and bequeath unto my youngest Daughter, Rosina
Romich, which remainder is to be paid out on interest by the Guardians
hereafter named, until she, the said Rosina arrives to the age of twenty
one years. or marries, which ever shall first happen. And in case, she
should happen to die, under age, unmarried and without Lawful ____, then
and in such case, I give and bequeath the same aforesaid remander as follows,
Viz, the sum of Fifty pounds, to the German Lutheran Church, for maintaining,
upholding of keeping in repair the said Church yard, Schoolhouse and other
buildings, belonging to said Congregation, and the further Sum of Fifty
pounds, I give and bequeath to the poor of said Congregation to be
distrubuted among them according to the disgression of the Elders of said
Congregation and the residue and remainder, I give and bequeath unto my
Lawful Grand Children, Viz, the Children of one parent to have one equal
share.
Lastly, I do hereby Nominate and appoint,
my trusty Friend, Michael Doudle, Jacob Smyser,
Esqs. and John Haller, Executor of this my Last
Will and Testament And also Guardians over the person and Estate of my
said Daughter, Rosina.
In Witness where of , I the said, Michael Romich, have hereunto set my hand and seal, the Eighteenth Day of July, A. D. One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninty One.
