My name is John Manning, from Dublin , Ireland. Many years ago I received a copy of my Manning family history (as researched by a cousin of my fathers), which started my interest in tracing my family roots.

This web site is my attempt to share the info I have on my Mannion / Manning family from Co. Longford, Ireland and ,with any luck,  link up with anyone else connected to this line.

Also included on this site is all the information I have on the following families:

The Dowling Family (originating in Co. Kildare) - my mothers side of the clan !

The Keogh Family (originating in Co. Westmeath) - my wife Breda's family (Fathers side)

The Cunningham Family (originating in Co. Waterford) - my wife Breda's family (Mothers side)

Much as I would like to take credit for the 'Manning / Mannion' information contained in these pages, I'm afraid I cannot. All credit belongs to the original researcher, John Mel Manning originally from Glen, Co. Longford. To my knowledge, John began researching our family back in the early '80's when he lived in NY. On his retirement, he moved back to his home county of Longford. Unfortunately he passed on before I ever got to meet him..........
