1 There is disagreement concerning the ancestors of Adam de Molyneux. According to Nellie Zada Rice Molyneux (as transcribed by Jim Stevens at ? and reproduced here), Adam's father is Vivian de Molyneux, son of Robert de Moulines, who is the son of Abelard and Heloise (traditional legend); Adam's uncle - and Vivian's brother - is the William de Molines who is listed in the Roll of Battle Abbey. She believed that the William de Molyneux entered in the LDS Ancestral File as coming between Robert de Moulines and Vivian Molyneux was inaccurate. According to Robert W. Barnes (as transcribed by? at ? and reproduced here), Adam's father may be a Robert de Molyneux who was granted the manor of Sefton by Roger Poitou, but it is noted that there is a dispute regarding his paternity; no mention is made of Vivian de Molyneux.
