He married Amelia Fraker in Fowler 4/29/1866. They moved to Seneca Falls 12/1896. k He was a dairy farmer. In later years they lived at 140 Ovid St. They had four sons and 3 daughters Fred R. Sarah, Roscoe Johnson, Mrs. William Sylvester, Mrs. Asa Woodcock of Seneca Falls, George of Buffalo and Jay H. of Waterloo.  There were also 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson died 5/19/1928. He was the last member of Cross Post 78, GAR. At one time there were 400 members.

Henry W. Johnson-Seneca Falls

He was born 4/16/1844 in Fowler, St. Lawrence Co. the youngest of 13 children of Henry and Hannah Brown Johnson.  While still quite young he was a stagecoach driver in St. Lawrence Co.  He enlisted in the 20th NY Cavalry Co. H. 9/5/1864 in Fowler.  He fought in Virginia in the Army of the James and was on detached service with others at Fort Magruder. He was in the advance guard when Richmond fell.  He was discharged 6/15/1865.  his grandfather Comfort Johnson was in the Revolutionary War, his father was a volunteer in the War of 1812.  He was the youngest of five brothers in the Civil War. His brothers were Ebenezer, Benjamin, Ozlas and Acil.
