Jones and Sadler Family Tree

Family History of Ivor Jones and Tracy Sadler

Welcome to the home page for our family history site. The links on the left will take you to potted histories of the various branches of the family.

The full tree is on Rootsweb.  It’s a bit sprawling, hence this website which gives details of the direct lines.

A PDF of the ancestors of my grandmother, Gladys Rebecca Ward can be seen by clicking here.

My father’s side of the family are here.

Ivor can be e-mailed by clicking here.  Tracy can be e-mailed by clicking here.

The whole is a story of doctors, lawyers, priests, agricultural labourers, mariners, fishermen, shipwrights and haberdashers of hats.  There’s some fairly convoluted inter-marriage in Wiltshire in the 18th and 19th centuries but, hopefully, it’s not too complicated.  I’ve included trees wherever possible and links to Google Maps for the various towns and villages.

If you’re related in any way, please get in touch—we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Bill, Foster, Hawkes, Jenkins, Merriman, Noble, Ward

The main family on my mother’s side is the Wards.  There is a full list of them down to my great grandfather.  The other families are taken as far as the point where they merge with the Wards.

Jones, Hunn, Fletcher, Nanscawen, Bayley, Hodge

The main families on my father’s father’s side.  The Nanscawens are a small family and all the modern Nanscawens are related.  There’s some work on the early Nanscawens included trying to tie them all together.  Many of the others lived in the Tamar Valley.

Coggins, Smith

The main families on my father’s mother’s side.  There are various other Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire families listed as well.

Sadler, Farrow and Utting

Families on Tracy’s fathers side from Norfolk and Suffolk.  Sometimes they moved, sometimes the border did.

Brown, Crundwell, Avery

Families on Tracy’s mother’s side.  From Essex and Kent

We’ve made every effort to make sure that the information here is correct but, please don't blame us if it’s wrong—let us know and we’ll correct it.

A Google Earth file of major places is available here.
