Short Biography

Reuben T. Richardson was very active in the G.A.R. in West Virginia. For this reason, I believe he was probably in the war but not deployed -- he re-enlisted in the W.V. 17th but the war ended soon thereafter.

Reuben was a successful businessman, pharmacist, and later a federally appointed Postmaster in New Martinsville, West Virginia. His son, James Julius Richardson became an internationally famous doctor, Harry a very successful dentist in Iowa, and Homer, a life-ling pharmacist and resident of New Martinsville.
