NEW - Have only recently discovered a whole new ancestral line which traces right back to 1066, the Norman Conquest and Ralph de Limesi. JUDITH BROUGH born Biddulph 1785, Bob's GG Grandmother, is a direct descendant of this line. The Family Tree on this website is up to date as of 5th October 2005. It is due to be reloaded very soon and will include the full Brough family details. In the meantime please see BROUGHNORMAN.HTM or refer to website http://www.broughfamily.org/families/broughs_27_generations/pafg26.htm#6936 Joy 27th March 2008 - Still waiting for a reload of the updated family tree. I will find time one of these days I promise and this will include the Brough link to 1066 mentioned above as well as all the other extra family members I have identified in the last year or more since I last reloaded the tree. |
-Included in this website are 8035 individuals with 1560 unique surnames who have been identified as connected to one of our two English family lines. But please note that more recent research than is recorded on this website has increased that number to over 12000 individuals.
Please come in, browse and enjoy. If you would like to share information on any of these families please contact me.
There are quite a lot of photos on the website. Pass the mouse over a photo to view its description, click on photo to enlarge it.

Please note that this home page is very much in need of a bit of Tlc. See my Stained glass page to understand why.
This family
tree file is a very large working document and is continually
subject to addition and revision.
It may well include some incorrect or inaccurate
information.
If so I apologise but as there are so many individuals
(> 8000) included it is sometimes difficult
to ensure that everything is 100% correct.
Information in the tree is derived from many different sources and where possible is checked for accuracy.
Some details have been sent to me by people who have found a connection, through this website,
with people in their own trees. The information they send allows me to expand my tree even further
often with people who have only a very distant. relationship with my immediate family.
Though this website I have now found several distant cousins across the world.
and I hope in the future to find even more.
Some family photos are included within the website - I hope you enjoy them. There are lots more photos, non- genealogy related, on the Travel Page.
If you have any information on anyone in this family tree I would be more than happy to share details with you.
I would also be very pleased to receive any corrections, additions to the information as published here to date.
I first began researching my
family history in the summer of 2000 when I came into possession
of the family tree research notes which my father (now deceased)
had compiled a few years earlier. These notes gave me an
excellent starting point and with PC, Email and the Internet at
my finger tips I was able to build on them far more easily than
if I had tried my fathers traditional snail-mail and pen
and paper method. Modern technology really has made life so
much easier for the genealogist. An early discovery of my
links to the English and Scottish kings (via my maternal
grandmothers line) was most exciting though I have so far
been unable to persuade anyone to curtsey to me! After a
year working on my own Rochdale family lines I then turned my
attention to Bobs Staffordshire Salt line and uncovered a
most complicated, inter-married family from Dilhorne which
results in Bob being his own cousin.
Apologies to anyone who contacts me and does not get an immediate reply. My life is currently very busy with the house, garden, family, WI (A plug here for the Leigh and District Women's Institute), My part time job (another plug here - for the STRAWBERRY GARDEN CENTRE and TEAROOM in Bramshall near Uttoxeter), our extensive travels, which keep me away from the PC, as well as my family tree research. I promise that I will respond to you as soon as I am able and have time so please be patient.
