Generation No. 1

 

1.  JAMES D.2 RIMMER  (UNKNOWN1) was born Abt. 1824 in at sea (Atlantic Ocean) probably on a ship going from Newfoundland to New York, and died Bet. 1870 - 1880 in Missouri.  He married EMILY STEVEN? Abt. 1852 in Missouri, daughter of UNKNOWN and UNKNOWN.  She was born October 1824 in Mississippi, and died Bet. 1900 - 1910 in Vernon County, Missouri.

1850 Census, Cooper County, says James was born at sea, on the Atlantic Ocean, Emily in Mississippi.

1860 United States Federal Census > Missouri > Cooper > Blackwater. Says James was born in New York and Emily in Missouri.

In 1900, two of his sons say he was born in Newfoundland.

In 1910, Jasper says his father was born in England.

2.  JASPER C. N.3 RIMMER (JAMES D.2, UNKNOWN1) was born Abt. 1856 in Missouri, and died Abt. 1917 in Salina, Kansas.  He married MARY ANNA BEESON Abt. 1885 in Missouri, daughter of ALFRED BEESON and MARY JEFFERS.  She was born December 1866 in Iowa, and died in Vernon County, Missouri.

Lee-Warren Watchman Dead
Jasper C. Rimmer, 62, died late Friday at his home, 205 South Fifth Street, of kidney trouble.  He had been ill about a week.  He was born in Cooper county, Mo., and has lived here for two years, coming from Portland, Ore.  He was employed as night watchman at Lee Warren mill.  Besides his wife, the following children survive:  John Rimmer, Ft. Scott, G. W. Rimmer, Nevada, Mo., C. M. Rimmer, Joplin, Mo., James A. Rimmer, Salina and Miss Mary E. Rimmer, Salina.  The body will be shipped to Nevada, Mo., Sunday for burial.

Missouri.  He married MYRTLE BEATRICE LA GUIRE October 16, 1909 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri, daughter of LEWIS LA GUIRE and CLARA WINTERS.  She was born September 07, 1893 in Michigan, and died July 11, 1967 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri.

Missouri, and died December 29, 2007 in Nevada, Missouri.  She married OLA DOIL FENTON January 19, 1933 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri, son of ELMER FENTON and STELLA.  He was born July 10, 1911 in Stockton (Cedar Co.) Missouri, and died November 13, 1972 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri (Newton

Cemetery).

   Mary Elizabeth Fenton, 93, Nevada, MO passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center in Nevada, MO. She was born September 13, 1914 in Vernon County, MO to Whit Rimmer and Myrtle LaGuire Rimmer. She was married to Ola Fenton who preceded her in death on November 13, 1972.
There are no services planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.

     

7.  HARRY (BUSTER) WHITTEN5 RIMMER (GEORGE (WHIT) WHITTEN4, JASPER C. N.3, JAMES D.2, UNKNOWN1) was born May 13, 1918 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri, and died May 1984 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri.  He married HELEN BAKER November 02, 1936 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri, daughter of JAMES BAKER and BERTHA LOVE.  She was born October 28, 1919 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri, and died January 04, 2002 in Nevada (Vernon Co.) Missouri.

 

Notes for HELEN BAKER:

   Helen Rachel Rimmer, 82, Nevada, passed away Friday morning, January 4, 2002, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada following a lengthy illness.

  She was born October 28, 1919, in Nevada, to James Otis Baker and Bertha Lucille Love Baker.  She married Harry Rimmer on November 21, 1936, in Lamar, Missouri, and he proceeded her in death on May 5, 1984.

   Mrs. Rimmer was born and raised in Nevada and spent virtually her entire life here. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, Nevada, the American Legion Auxiliary and D.A.V.

   Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Belcher, Oswego, Kansas, Patty Epps, Warrensburg, Missouri, Doris Fairall, Anaheim, California; two brothers, Jack Baker and Jess Baker, both of Nevada, Missouri; two sisters, Margaret Chadd, Milo, Missouri, and Marjorie Spencer, Nevada Missouri, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-great-grandchild Cherish Belcher.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2002, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Missouri, with Rev. Jerry Pyle officiating. Interment followed in Newton Burial Park.
