Dear Sir:

Connected with the fight we had at this place on Tuesday the 29th July we took the following prisoners, which were placed, and the next day, in charge of Major Brocht and taken by him to Lexington. Their names, residences etc. are herewith given.

The following two were arrested before the fight about 1 1/2 miles south of this going in a southerly direction - could give no satisfactory account of their business - no earthly doubt they were endevoring to join Morgan's Gang - as further evidence of the fact you will find a letter enclosed from Hon. Samuel Swope of Falmouth to C. Broch, Dep. Marshal of this place. I have no doubt of their guilt.

age 58 - 6' - light hair - was arrested and charged with feeding a gang of rebels who were encamped in a dichel near his house - acknowledges that some of his family did give him provisions - further charged  that he said he desired the rebels to take this place.

age 20 - 6' - dark hair - was captured in this county by Home Guards - was in company with about 30 rebels who were prowling in the neighorhood of the 42nd named prisoner John Green - in fact was arrested at his house.
