Company C, 70th Regiment of NC Troops |
This unit was raised and enlisted of troops from Haywood, Hendereson and Rutherford Counties. The company functioned as part of the regiment, formed by the consolidation of the 1st and 6th Battalions, for the entirety of the war. More detailed information on each of these soldiers can be found in North Carolina Troops 1861-1865 A Roster, Volume X, Infantry, compiled by Weymouth T Jordan, Jr with Unit Histories by Louis H Manarin. All genealogists owe a debt of gratitude to these gentlemen for their wonderful tribute to our ancestors.
These soldiers resided in Rutherford County.
