The Confederate Soldiers listed below are related to the three Bates siblings, General John Bates, Julius Bates, and Elizabeth Bates Jackson, either by blood, marriage, or ancestor association. The Confederates that are related by marriage or ancestor association are usually, but not limited to, brothers, nephews, uncles, fathers in law, grandfathers, great grandfathers, and great great grandfathers, whose relatives or descendants married into above families, or the families of their descendants, before, during, and after the War Between the States. The common bond shared by all is their dedication to the cause for southern independence. The purpose of this web site is to protect our families heritage and to honor our Confederate ancestors. This site is not only dedicated to our ancestors, but to all Confederate Soldiers who fought for their beliefs in the War of Northern Aggression. This is an ongoing project researched and compiled by many caring descendants and relatives, to prove and document all of our Confederate kin. Our ongoing research is hampered by trying to resolve the prevalent problem of poor record keeping late in the war, and is hindering our efforts to obtain records for our forgotten boys, some who are buried in unmarked graves in unknown locations, and securing them Confederate memorial headstones. They are the ones that are forgotten, having died for the cause at a very young age, many having no direct descendants. They should be remembered. Any corrections, additions or comments please contact the Rebmaster. We would be very honored, if you would take the time to sign our guest book located below. Unfortunately, in today's climate, it is necessary to provide a disclaimer, which is located near the bottom of this page. Much has been said about Slavery and about States Rights, guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States, but the plain fact is, no American war has ever been fought over anything, but for economic reasons. Many would like to think that the War Between the States was fought for slavery only, but nothing could be further from the truth, although many disagree. This war was fought mainly for economic reasons, regardless of what you may hear from some, a lot of America's best sons were lost here forever. This was truly a big loss for our family, and for all Americans. They should all be honored as they represent the best that America has ever had to offer. They fought to protect their homes and families, for what they believed in, and to protect their way of life. It is easy for some to say who was right or was wrong today, but the fact remains that this was one of America's most painful times. History is written by the victors of war, and is not being accurately depicted today. Although we take the southern viewpoint, we strive for historical truth and accuracy, not for any political correctness. We welcome your comments. We are seeking photo's, records, stories, family lore, burial locations, or any other info, for our Confederates, so it may be added to their web pages here. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Due to the overwhelming response we have received from our cousins and relatives, it is necessary to add an additional page to honor more of our related Confederate soldiers. Click here for and more Rebels.

We Fly the Flag for Heritage not Hatred
It is necessary to disclaim any connections to neo-nazis, red-necks, skin heads, hate groups, and the like. Some of these groups have used Confederate flags and desecrated them by their acts. They have no right to use the flag as it is a flag of honor representing states rights and southern independence. We deny any of these groups the right to use the flags of the Confederacy for any purpose. This web site neither promotes nor condones discriminatory speech or actions based on race, religion, creed or national heritage. We take a very dim view of those seeking to discredit our Confederate ancestors or those who seek to abolish all Confederate symbols and heritage. We are all proud of our Confederate Americans. Thanks to many cousins and relatives who have contributed family information without whose input and support this project would not be possible. All materials contained on these pages are furnished for the free use by anyone researching their Confederate Ancestors and family heritage. You are welcome to copy any information found at this site for your personal use or to share with other researchers if you wish. With all the politically correct groups activity today, some who are seeking to rewrite history to suit themselves, instead of being historically accurate, is a disservice to our ancestors and American history. The only purpose of this web site is to honor our Confederate ancestors. Deo Vindice.
