William H. Tilley



William H. Tilley, son of Henry Tilley and Mary Rose, was born in 1841 in Hardin County, Tennessee. He is first found in his mother's household on the 1850 Hardin County, Tennessee census. He is probably the William Tilly who served in Company G of the 10th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, USA, during the Civil War. He was first married on 31 May 1866 in Wayne County, Tennessee to Mary C. Garner. She died about 1869, probably in Hardin County, Tennessee. William H. Tilley is next found on the 1870 Hardin County, Tennessee census in the household of his brother, James Tilley, on page 340B.
