OBITUARY
Norris C. Kahl
Norris C. Kahl, 84, of Big Rock, passed away July 31, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Kaneville to the late Thomas and Elsie Kahl.
Norris was a farmer in Big Rock from 1946 to 1961. He was a supervisor for 20
years at the Kane County Highway Department.
He is survived by his daughter, Neta White of Oswego; his son, Brian (Ellen)
Kahl of Plano; his three grandchildren, Adam (Michelle) White of Plainfield, and Catherine Kahl and
John Kahl, both of Plano; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Brittany White of Plainfield; several
nieces and nephews; two twin brothers, Charles (Doris) Kahl and Robert Kahl, both of Aurora; his
sister-in-law, Irene Cleveland of Sandwich; special friends, Pat, Debbie, Amy and Jennifer Testin;
and his caregivers, Roman and Bob.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie, in 1997; his stepmother, Ruth
Kahl; his sister, Josephine Kahl; his brother, Norman Kahl; and his son-in-law Jerry White.
Funeral services were held Aug. 3, at English Congregational United Church of
Christ of Big Rock with the Rev. Dr. Byron Henn officiating. Visitation was at The Healy Chapel in
Sugar Grove. Interment was at Welsh South Big Rock Cemetery.
