Surnames in Reno Co...As
far as I know at this time, Sparman was the only one of my surnames in
Reno Co. I didn't know they had resided in Reno Co until now. Fowler was
in New York, Ohio, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Kansas, Oklahoma, and then
back to Kansas. Hayward was England, Ohio, and Missouri. My "cousin contact"
in Kansas, a granddaughter of Mamie and Henry, tells me she knew that Mamie
and "Harry" (nickname) lived in Hutchinson, KS when her father, Sidney
Sparman (son of Louie Elonzo) was young. Sidney was born in 1936.
Henry Harrison Sparman, according to the 1900 census, was born in Germany in 1862. He must have emigrated with his parents in 1869, naturalized citizen. Henry Harrison Sparman married Mamie May Fowler at Pond Creek, OK on July 3, 1894. She was age 17. Mamie was born at Hungerford, Newago County, Michigan in 1879. Henry and Mamie were in Wakita, Grant Co, OK in 1896 & 1898 where their 1st 2 children were born. They were in Mayday, Riley County, KS in 1900 for the birth of a child. They were in Elbing,a Mennonite settlement near Newton, Kansas for the years of 1902, 1904, and 1906. They were in Wellington, Sumner Co, Kansas in 1908, 1912, and 1919. Both , Mamie and harry Sparman died at Wellington, Sumner Co, KS and are buried in Prairie Lawn Cemetery there. Henry died 1944, age 78; Mamie died 1970, age 91. |
