I bought these photos on eBay because one of them is a photographer in
Hutchinson, Kansas…Samuel Hirst. I am the webmaster for the Reno
County Genealogical Society and collect photos from that area.
Please feel free to “right-click” and save the photos to your hard drive.
Although the photo of Will and Carrie was taken in Hutchinson, I do not
find that they lived there. Perhaps they were visiting and
had the opportunity to get a photograph taken. Sedgwick County is
not that far from Reno County (Hutchinson). By 2006 standards, Wichita,
for example is 45 to one hour from Hutchinson. Back then it was probably
half-a-day. Surprisingly, many people made regular trips to and from
Wichita. If anyone can shed light on the Sedgwick County and Reno
County connection, let me know and I will be glad to add that information.
