TOWN ACTS.

It was agreed, and voted: ye Jonathan Winchill small Lot on ye west side of High Street should run back to Muddy Brooke its full breadth as it was first stated by ye, Committee, the *bridge being now removed higher wch occasioned ye taking off a little corner at ye foot of ye bridge, for ye accommodating of ye same condition ye said Winchell doth lay downe to ye higfhway & added to ye side of his lot as a compensation for what they tooke from his lot at ye foote of ye bridge.
  It was agreed, and by a full and cleare vote determined, & concluded yt ye old way or roade to and from Springfield, through Highe street, should run where it alwaies hath, & now doth run, it being judged of all hands to be ye most feezable & far less charge for ye Towne to maintaine.
  It was agreed, and voted yt every man shall have a convenient way to his Land & yt no after grant shall hinder any man of ye priviledge.
  By a full and clear vote Thomas Taylor was admitted as an Inhabitant into ye Towne.
  Agreed and voted to give Mr. ¥ Tillton an invitation into Towne.
  Agreed & Voted ye Jno Barker senr should have ye lot yt was formerly granted
to Luke Hitchcocke for his sonns.


  At a Legall Meeting of ye Inhabitants of Suffield August ye 24th, 1683. It was yn agreed & voted to receive Quinton Stockwell as an Inhabitant into the Towne, and accordingly was granted to him an alotment of forty acres for his settlement. This act through some neglect of ye Select Men mist its entry in the due place, but yet is a true act of the Towne.


  At a Legall Meeting of ye Inhabitants of Suffield April ye 10th 1684. 1st, It was agreed, and Voted: for ye future to make, and confirme those acts of the Committe, ¥¥ Page the 3d,, in refference to the manner of defraying the public charges, and time how long men shall settle Upon their Land, before they shall have any powre to sell, allianate, or dispose thereof; and this act to continue, and stand in full force untill the Towne shall see cause to pass an act to the contrary.
  2d. It was agreed, & voted to fence in ye burying place this yeare; and that the charges about it shall be defrayed out of the " purchase money," § which is due to the Towne.
  3d. It was agreed & voted that Goodm. Roe, Serja Harmon & Jonathan Winchell should settle ye bounds of ye burying place, and all soe the front range of ye lots from David Winchils to ye burying place.
  4thly. It was agreed, & voted to admit Obadiah Miller an Inhabitant into the Towne and accordingly granted him the allotmt which was Lazarus Millers provided: he pay his brother Lazarus what shall be judged meet for the laboure he hath expended upon it.
