OF SUFFIELD. 

  At a Legall Town Meeting January 4th 1714/15:
  1st. It was agreed, and voted; That the Towns Newest *Law Book be yearly kept by such one of the Select Men , ss shall live nearest the Centure of ye Town, and there to be for ye free use of any of the Town; but not to be Carryed front place to place.
  2ne. It was agreed, and voted That the Towns other law book shall be for ye use of ye Constable for ye time being, that is to say; to be kept by such Constable for his, and ye Town use.
  3dlv. That there be Twenty shillings in money, Raised for Mr. ¥ Joseph Smith, to compensiate him for Dispensing the Word of God to us one Sabbath, some years ago.
  4th. That the Select Men shall give Order for the Assessing of the Town, for so much as ¥¥ Mr. Atherton Mather can give them good satisfaction is his due; for serving and Representing the Town at a Sessions of the General Court, in february Last.
  5thly. That John Warner should be allowed Two Shillings and Eight pence, for seting up fence upon ye Ministry Lot, which he never had satisfaction for.
  6thly. That James Younglove should be allowed Two Shillings for going to Springfleld, on the Towns business.
  7thly. That Jared Huxleys Constable Sallery should be paid in money with a Third abatement.
  The above written votes having been written, & read in ye Meeting, where they were voted: we order to be put upon Record.

  Laid out by us the Subscribers, pursuant to a Grant of this Town, (made in May the 14th, '711, see p. 170,) unto part of ye proprietors thereof, Certain Tracts of Land to ly as a perpetual Common, for the use and benefit of ye proprietors, intended in said Grant.  The description of which Land with its Bounds and limits are as followeth:  the first parcel, is Scituate East of the Road that loads to Springfield, taking in all ye free Land that lyeth between the North side of Ebenezer Burbanks Home lott, and ye above said Road. A second Parcel lyeth on ye East Side of Fylars Brook, Comprising all the Land that is free from said Brook, Eastward to the Hill called Stevensons, Extending North and South from Springfield Bounds, to Samuel Kents meadow, and ye  South end of ye Hill called Glovers Hill, taking in together withall ye Land which John Pengilly exchanged with ye Town. A third parcel is between Muddy Brook, & Fylers Brook, taking in all ye Land that is free between ye said Brooks, from Springfield Bounds, to Bushes Bridge on ye East side:  and from Springfield Bounds, to John Kents meddow on ye, West Side: ex-
