Att the same meeting was chosen petty
Jurymen for the Superior Court-- Abraham Adams, Joseph Remington and Ensign Anthony
Austin.
Grand Jurymen for ye Superior Court--John Burbank and John Austin.
Petty Jurymen-Joseph King and Daniel Badger.
Grand Juriours-Cap't Joseph Winchel & Serj. James King
Att a Lawful meeting of the Inhabitants and free holders of the Town of Suffield, Qualified as the Law Directs to vote in Town
meeting, on Fryday the 3d Day of December 1725. John Austin being chosen Moderatour to
order sd meeting the following votes were passed.
1st, Voted to Allow Nathaniel Warner 6s pr week for keeping Goodman Elgar from
March meeting to the time ye Widow Huxley took him and for money
Expended to Doctor and other things in his sickness, & mending clothes,8s 8d; for Tendance in sickness,
7s.
2d, Voted: to Allow ye Widow Experience Huxley five shillings and
Nine
pence pr week for the Time she hath kept Goodman Elgar, and 5s & 6d pr week
till the next March meeting.
3d, Voted to Leave it with The Select men to procure Clothing or Cloaths
mended for the poor at the best lay they call for the Town.
4th,Voted to raise Thirty pounds in Town pay for the support of the poor
ye year Insuing any other unforseen charge that may happen.
5th, Voted to Allow Samuel Halladay 3s & 6d pr week for
keeping., his Grandmother Froe, for the time be kept her, and 4s over, for 3 weeks
Extraordinary.
6th, Voted to free John Stockwell from the Town pay Rate this present year it)
Consideration of his keeping his mother.
7th,Voted to leave it with the Select men to Allow men what in their
Judgement they think Reasonable for w't they have Don for the Town not now
brought in
8th, Whereas the town have Information that there is a fence set across
ye Highway or Road leading from High street to Springfield---Voted, that in case
sd fence be not Removed then to pay John Pengilly Junr for, and to
Endemnifie him in Removing sd fence.
9th, Voted, that Iron Do pass in all Town payments or Town pay Rates, and
be accordingly accepted by the Town Treasurer at the Market price as it is
sold at ye Iron works in Suffield; and all sorts of provision pay at ye money
price as it passes from man to man in sd Suffield--the ministers Rate Excepted.
At this meeting John Pengilly was chosen to serve at the jury of Tryals at
ye next court at Northamton.
A HIGHWAY OVER RAWLIN'S BROOK.
May ye 28th, 1725. Then we the Subscribers Laid out a Highway on the
West side of ye Lott in ye possession of Deacon John Mixer, and sd way
Bounds East on it, the Discription of which way is as followeth: It begins at ye
Highway that Leads from sd Mixers Land Westward to High Street, at which
