TOWN ACTS.

Inhabitants thereof, a Discription of which waies are as followeth: We began one way at ye foot of ye Hill called Kents Hill and at the West Corner of Land Laid out to Joseph Segars in Lieu of Meadow, Thence Running, Northwardly up said Hill four Rods wide, so Running on ye top of sd Hill, uitill it come to Land that was Mr. Ebenezer Devotions, now in possession of James Barlow, thence Running on the East side of ye sd land untill it come to the North East Corner thereof, and so on the same Course about Thirty Six perch. Thence it turns more westwardly Running Down ye Hill; when Down ye Hill it turns more west, so Running to ye Falls of Muddy Brook: when over sd Brook it turns more North untill it comes near a Deep Valley where it turns Running west on the South side of ye Valley between the Two acres and the Eighteen acres there Laid out to Joseph Segars, and so on westward between Two parcels of Land Laid out to James Lawton untill it come to the Highway that Leads Northward to Burlesons Brook; Thence Running across sd Highway Westward about Twelve Rod then turning more Norwest Running to a narrow miry place near ye West End of a little piece of Bog meadow where is a chestnut Tree marked standing on ye East Side of ye sd way.--thence Running across sd mire so as to gain the firm Land and then Running Norwest to ye North branch of Battle Snake Swamp and so on across sd Swamp to ye North end of a great Ridge or Hill of Rocks where there are Trees mark'd on each side of sd way. The sd way we Laid four Rod in bredth, Excepting on the West Side of ye Highway that leads to Burlesons Brook, west of that we Laid it but Three Rods wide. There are many Trees mark'd mostly Standing on the Right hand of ye way as we went out. We also Laid out a way for ye benefit of the Town on the West side of Filers Brook begining at or near ye field called Grangers: Thence Running Northerly until pas't Samuel Lanes House: Then Turning Gradually baring toward ye west in or near where the path now goes for ye most part and so along ye best Land for a Highway untill it came over a wett, low place that leads into John Stockwells Land or swamp, on the west side of which gutter or wett place we mark'd Two Trees, on each side of sd way one; Thence up the Hill toward James Barlows Land until ye sd way was Eight Rods wide, at which place Trees are mark'd on both sides of sd way at which sd way parts. One part thereof viz: four Rods of ye breadth bares South West untill it comes to the way first above mentioned and Discribed: The other part or branch of sd way bares more Northerly untill it come to ye same way that ye other part or Branch extended to. The Trees mark'd for ye Bounds of sd way are mostly standing on the Southerly side of sd way.
