IMPORTANT NOTICE: The ability to alter or change these pages will take place early in 2024. Ancestry has made the decision to no longer host so what is here can remain but no updates will be possible. As of 2024, I will still be available at the email noted but cannot guarantee that in the future.

LEAVES of the TREE

My interests are Genealogy and Family History. I don't restrict myself to just the basic facts but like to know as much as possible about my ancestors. I do try to verify direct lines of my ancestry with primary or reliable secondary sources. Information about collateral ancestors may not be proved by me; that data may sometimes contain information that is hearsay or inaccurate so take care to judge the source for youself. Many, many people have shared information with me and I want them to have full credit for their many hours of work. If you have questions about the sources cited, I'll try to help.

My purpose is to help you make a connection or to find new information. Specific facts about living persons are not posted. These web pages are not intended for redistribution for any commercial use and may not be copied for such purposes. Please ask my permission if you plan to publish my information on the Internet or in print, even if it's intended for your own family. I politely request that you give proper credit both to me and to my sources if you choose to copy the data herein for your own personal use.

PLEASE NOTE:

I am the administrator of a Comstock Y-DNA project at this time(2024). There have been questions concerning the four proposed sons of the immigrant William Comstock, only two of which can be conclusively documented. However, baptisms of the children have been found in England, as well as the likely marriage record of the immigrant. DNA testing does support the research, that all four men, John, Daniel, Samuel, and Christopher, as the only younger men in New England at the time, were indeed sons of William Comstock. Go here to read a bit more about the project.

Or go directly to the home page, Comstock DNA Project.

Tree Here are a few tips to help you as you browse through the leaves of my trees.
Direct line folks will have their names in all capital letters - both given names and surnames. I am most likely to have additional information about those people who are on the same page with a direct line ancestor.

My genealogy program automatically deletes information about living persons. If I have no death date for an individual it may assume they could be living. Hence they will have no data.

If the person at the top of a page is a link, click on it to move to that person's parents. Click on a child's name to move forward to that child's family. The Back and Forward buttons on your browser will work nicely, too.

The superscript numbers are linked to a source of the same number.

Wives whose surnames are unknown will have their husband's surname in square brackets as in: [Surname]. This is for my convenience when I'm trying to find them in my database!

Here is my Blog.

I have an alternate website hosted by RootsWebb here. which does not always appear in search engines. It will be more up to date as long as I am still researching. The site is somewhat confusing - be sure to read the "Help" page noted in top left hand corner.

I have also researched the descendants and acquaintances
of the following two men in an attempt to prove that James Holderness was a brother to William Holderness and find their parents.
I have been unsuccessful but you are welcome to look at their families:
