Descendants of Michael Mackquinnie

The McKinnie family may very well be unrelated to me or my husband in any way but they have certainly been an interesting family to reasearch. The Will of Col. Barnaby McKinnie and the burden his entailed property placed on his heirs is intriguing to say the least.

I cannot yet prove that James Holderness was a brother to my husband's ancestor William Holderness but while searching for this relationship I found all this family of James' first wife Patience (McKinnie) Sherrod Holderness.

The majority of the proof contained herein has come from the deeds of Colonial Chowan, Bertie, Edgecombe and Halifax Counties in North Carolina. I'm happy to share with you..
